ZSs Data Strategy and Partnerships has 2 pillars: First, advising clients on all matters related to Data Strategy. With the explosion of healthcare data and new applications, Data Strategy has emerged as a key strategic initiative for many Life Science companies. The team advises clients on operating model, governance, data sourcing and generation, data management, value creation, technology enablement, and compliance. We help diagnose the current state, develop the data strategy roadmap, design, build, and operate strategic data-related capabilities. The second pillar is focused on building relationships and partnerships with a wide range of data providers to enable ZS access and use of the data in innovative offerings and services.
The Data Strategy Manager , based in either our Princeton or Philadelphia office, will help deliver world-class data strategy solutions for Life Science clients, including operating models, data governance, data sourcing, process design, value creation, data catalogs, data compliance, and more. This individual will have high visibility within the firm and work collaboratively with the rest of the Data Strategy team located in North America, South America, Europe, and India, as well as various client service teams and other practice areas.

Responsibilities:
- Partner with ZS leaders and client service teams to sell and deliver Data Strategy projects for Life Science clients, including project scoping, approach definition, project management and execution, communication, and people management;
- Serve as a primary day-to-day project lead, manage multiple workstreams ensuring fulfillment of project objectives on-time and on-budget;
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert to support teams in client project proposals, client discussions, thought leadership, etc.;
- Build long-term, trusted relationships with clients & internal stakeholders to develop a significant book of business;
- Stay current on the latest data and domain trends; develop POVs, offerings, frameworks, tools, whitepapers, etc. on data strategy innovations to build firm intellectual capital and thought leadership;
- Partner with the Senior Leadership team on people growth and management; mentor/coach junior members on the team, manage and collaborate with an extended global team of diverse skill sets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree required, with strong academic performance in analytic and quantitative coursework;
- 10+ years of relevant job experience; prior experience in Data Strategy and Life Science, working with consultancy firms, life science companies, or healthcare data providers;
- Knowledge of healthcare data and experience of its practical applications (e.g., patient-level EHR, claims, omics, data and experience with RWD/RWE projects or omics data) preferred;
- Ability to translate unstructured problems into actionable processes and approaches;
- Self-starter, with high motivation, maturity, and personal initiative;
- Executive-level oral and written communication skills;

+ Own the vision and roadmap for the Electronics Data Hub (EDH), with a focus on using data, including pricing, risk, lifecycle, and sourcing data, to generate actionable insights that support risk mitigation, strategic sourcing, and savings initiatives.

Job Summary
Within Aflac Global Investments (GI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Aflac, Inc., the Vice President, Data Strategy and Governance Manager is a member of the Chief Operating Officer Team. As a member, the individual will work closely with the entire GI team to develop a Global Investments Data Strategy and Governance structure and the management of the investments data. The individual should possess strong workflow and system processes to increase the efficiency and accuracy of data used by GI investments team. In addition, having a working knowledge of investments (internally and externally) and the systematic data collection from multiple sources. Knowledge of data strategy best practices, its governance and controls. The individual should have a developed understanding of organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written), while knowing your audience(s) and meeting multiple deliverables with highly structured timelines.
Reports to : Director, Head of Data Governance
GI Business Partners: GI Front Office, Investment Compliance, GI Data Management (Japan), Investment Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Trade Operations and Information Technology globally.
Key Responsibilities

Work in support of the development of Aflac GI’s global data strategy, enabling timely and trusted data delivery through a scalable operating model (data lineage, provenance, & traceability)

Execute and advance global data strategy, providing strong leadership on all aspects of data lifecycle management (data demand, data mastering, data governance, data architecture and data provisioning)

Develop and advance data governance structures, create accountabilities and guiding policies, expand the data management scope beyond security master attributes

Ensure data governance framework across all data domains including data integration and management with Investment Accounting and reporting, further expanding the discipline across all data assets of the GI franchise

Partner with business functions to assists in understanding client, product and business requirements and ensuring that data management processes meet the business requirements through the data life cycle.

Develop data management and end to end data integrity model with investment accounting for accounting book of record / central data warehouse.

Minimum 12 years of experience in data governance, data management role, with a robust understanding of technology and dataflow/work streams specifically in Asset Management or Insurance Asset Manager.

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field; MBA or MS in similar degree field a plus.
Skills/Knowledge

Working knowledge and understanding of public and private fixed income asset classes, Private Assets (Middle Market Loans, Real Estate Debt, Structured Private Credit, CLOs, Asset Backed Securities, etc), Private Equity, and Derivatives with demonstrated experience to support comprehensive data management reporting and analyses.

Advanced MS Excel skills required, including logical and reference formulas, financial functions, correlation through pivots and logic, best practice structure/design, assumption toggling, and formatting for executive presentations.

Extensive experience with SQL, data warehouse modelling, cloud-based database platforms and tools Python, PowerBI, PowerAutomate is a plus.

Working knowledge of Aladdin, Bloomberg AIM/PORT, Bloomberg Terminal, WSO and Indus Valley Partners solutions (Security Master, Data Quality Manager, Reconciliations), SAP Financial Asset Management (FAM), or similar asset management accounting systems for the insurance industry are a plus.

The range on this positions is: $225,000 to 285,000
This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
