TEAM
The ADAS Simulation and Validation Tools group accelerates the development of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (L2-L4) software by building scalable simulation platforms, cloud infrastructure, and automated testing pipelines. Our tools enable global engineering teams to validate complex driving systems efficiently and with confidence.
We focus on large-scale data workflows that ingest, transform, and correlate real-world and simulated driving data. This data powers critical simulation experiments and analytics tools used to improve driving system performance and guide strategic decisions. Our team sits at the intersection of simulation, cloud engineering, and data analysis-solving challenges in automation, scalability, and system validation to support cutting-edge vehicle programs.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking an experienced backend software engineer with a strong emphasis on data engineering and data analytics. The ideal candidate has experience with large-scale data ETL pipelines and schema design, web services and APIs, cloud infrastructure, and test automation. They will lead the design and deployment of cloud-native workflows for large-scale ADAS simulation and evaluation, including analytics applications, test orchestration, and traceability systems. By championing best practices, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring developers, you will play a key role in building our mission-critical AD/ADAS tools.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Backend and Data Software Engineering
- Build and optimize end-to-end data workflows from collection to user-facing tools
- Create efficient data models and automation pipelines for AD/ADAS systems
- Develop robust APIs to support data analytics applicationsImplement comprehensive testing strategies to ensure application reliability
- Communicate technical concepts and data findings effectively to non-technical team members and leadership
- Collaborate closely with the Product team and internal customers to optimize workflows and user experience.
- Work with other engineers to promote best practices, conduct code reviews, and ensure consistency and quality across the codebase
- Write clear technical design documents and system documentation.
- Deliver features through the full software lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, documentation, release, and maintenance.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience in backend web services and data pipelines.
- Experience with Python in a web and data context
- Experience with SQL and data schema design.Experience with data ingestion and ETL pipelines.
- Familiarity with NoSQL database systems such as DynamoDB.
- At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical designs and documentation.
- Experience with microservice and serverless cloud architectures.
- Experience with performance optimization techniques in various database systems.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).

Our team is actively seeking a motivated and talented Sr. Software Development Engineer in Test who is passionate about data and testing software through automation. You will be part of an inter-disciplinary team of hardware, firmware, software, system, and test engineers to develop and integrate cutting-edge technologies for a Financial Services Company, building AI driven E2E automation solutions connecting the Advisor Platform, the Investor Platform, and Teammates.
You will work closely with product and engineering teams to understand features, develop and automate test cases, improve product quality, and shorten release time from development to production.
Responsibilities:
- Actively Participate in all Agile Scrum ceremonies - PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Defect Review, Sprint Demo, Retrospective
- Actively participate in Backlog Refinement, story grooming, analyze and understand user story acceptance criteria
- Develop and execute both Manual and Automation Test plan, Test Cases based on the user stories and ensure proper test coverage
- Identify manual processes and implement intelligent automation solutions using AI/ML frameworks to optimize overall test preparation and execution efficiency also reduce cycle time.
- Perform in-sprint testing, service/API testing, Integration / E2E testing, Regression Final Build Certification and Release Day testing
- Reviewing user interfaces for conformity and functionality
- Working with software engineers to understand product architecture, integrations and features
- Creating and maintaining data scenarios to support test plans and test cases
- Ability to identify patterns, anomalies, and inconsistencies within data, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Analyzing test results, being a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process
- Documenting, tracking bugs to closure and reports on Project status to stakeholders
- Working in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software
- Serves as SME for one or more functional areas, acts as technology ambassador for automation and builds efficient solutions
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, plus 6+ years of IT experience, or a Master's degree with 5+ years of IT experience
- Minimum of 6+ years of hands-on experience in software development in test automation SDET, concurrent coding skills in one of the programming languages: Java or Python
- Test automation experience using open-source technologies and/or in-house frameworks like Selenium, Appium, TestNG, etc., and have leveraged & implemented CI/CD pipelines
- Hands-on experience with test processes, test methodologies, test strategy, test plan and test case design & execution
- Solid experience in testing SQL procedures and the ability to understand/write complex SQL queries to perform data validation
- Hands-on experience creating and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Database/ETL Workflows
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working with AWS services like S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, and exposure to Bedrock model integration or experience with other cloud vendors
- AI Tools / Models / Training Data Set exposure is a plus for adoption in testing methodologies
- Hands-on experience analyzing data, comparing with mapping documents, and debugging to identify the root cause
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes; Snowflake and Data Lake
- Hands-on experience Testing and Automation development for Batch Jobs, Data Feeds, API / Web services / Swagger
- Experience with test frameworks like Junit, TestNG; Code Versioning tools like GIT
- Experience with CI/CD with TeamCity/Octopus/Jenkins; and integrate AI-based quality gates and observability into CI/CD pipelines like GitHub Co-pilot
- Envision opportunities and apply AI low code/ no code automation techniques to improve the test coverage
- Experience with Jira or similar Agile process tools
- Cloud certification(s) are a plus

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
