Annapolis Micro Systems is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and analytical professional to join our team as a Database Systems Analyst. The Database Systems Analyst will oversee the development, modification, and improvement of the company databases and applications. They will collaborate with end-users across all internal departments to facilitate execution of user acceptance testing and aid in identifying database and application functionality needs. They will communicate with the Database Architect to explain identified database and application functionality needs, and they will be able to create efficient packets for the Database Architect to address all at once.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the development, modification, and improvement of company databases and applications
- Assess database design and optimize according to the company's objectives
- Gather and interpret data from the database
- Evaluate existing databases using testing methods and tools
- Prepare reports and make database systems recommendations based on those findings
- Evaluate and improve application usability
- Support the President with the development of estimates for development efforts and prioritization of development activities
- Communicate with internal end-users to understand and forecast the database functionality needs of their department
- Facilitate execution of user acceptance testing
- Collaborate with Database Architect to identify and expedite database functionality solutions
- Create SQL queries as needed
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, information systems or other relevant fields
- Proficiency with a database system
- U.S. Citizenship
- 1+ years of experience as a tester in hands-on application testing and developing and executing test scripts
- 1+ years of experience working with entity relationship diagrams, database schemas, test data, and source to target data verification
- 1+ years of experience with system testing methodologies
- 1+ years of experience with productivity tools, including Microsoft Office, such as Excel and using configuration management and defect tracking tools, such as Atlassian JIRA
- Knowledge of system or software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Ability to assess and comprehend system and functional requirements
- Ability to create and update test cases and perform requirement traceability to ensure all requirements are tested and accounted for
- Experience supporting and reporting data management and data quality applications
- Ability to support automated testing and usability testing
- Ability to support QA reviews, peer reviews, and reviews of SDLC products and artifacts
- Experience with Atlassian Jira for configuration management and defect tracking
- Knowledge of the system or software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Knowledge of manual and automated testing, 508 compliance, performance, UAT, Unit, regression, and integration testing
- Experience as a tester and analyst in hands-on applications testing and developing and executing test scripts
- Experience in mapping business and technical requirements into test cases and generating test scripts
- Experience in creating and updating test cases and performing requirement traceability to ensure all requirements are tested and accounted for
- Experience in accurately modeling requirements, using at least one if not more of the following: Functional Decomposition, Data Flow Diagrams, User Context Diagrams, Activity Diagrams, Workflow modeling, Use Cases, Process Modeling, Prototyping
- Ability to analyze complex systems, identify issues, and propose effective solutions
In compliance with local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $55,000/yr to $130,000/yr; however, Annapolis Micro Systems considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.

Working with the Database Systems team within the Information Technology Department, and collaborating closely with the DMS Administrator, this role focuses on support of the Firm's iManage Cloud suite of applications, including Work (Document Management System/DMS), Security Policy Manager (SPM), Threat Manager, Tracker, Records Manager (iRM), and Closing Folders. The right candidate requires an excellent background in iManage technology and system integrations using APIs.
The Database Systems Analyst will provide escalated (2nd+ level) support for iManage applications as well as carry out focused project work for both business change and service improvement. Where there is capacity beyond business-as-usual and project work, the DSA will identify opportunities for improving and automating processes as well as providing additional support to the Database Systems team and its responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Perform administrative functions and monitoring automated maintenance jobs for all iManage applications.
- Provide support for escalated iManage application issues.
- Take ownership of escalated issues and see them through to resolution.
- Work with the IT Operations teams to ensure we are providing optimal client service delivery levels to the firm for iManage and other Database Systems team applications.
- Plan and implement updates and upgrades to the iManage and third-party utilities installed to on-premises servers.
- Maintain and improve automated and ad hoc integrations with iManage applications such as metadata and user synchronizations, Workspace Generation, custom data extracts for analysis and reporting, etc.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop appropriate solutions.
- Develop and maintain a deep technical knowledge of iManage product suite.
- Stay current with iManage email communications regarding new releases, known issues, service interruptions, and scheduled maintenance events, communicating important and helpful information to internal stakeholders as needed.
- Optimize administration of Security Policy Manager and work with Client Intake team to deploy advanced SPM features.
- Optimize administration of Threat Manager and work with Information Governance, Information Security, and User Experience teams to improve reporting, etc.
- Assist Database Systems team with other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred.
- 3+ years of iManage Work administration and 2nd level support experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel, and to communicate and advise others on issues that are complex and/or sensitive in nature.
- Understanding of the business of law firms, including risk management issues facing firms.
- Ability to work successfully and independently in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressures.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to support new firm strategies and changing priorities.
