Clearance:
An ACTIVE Secret clearance (IT Level II Tier 5 / Special-Sensitive Position) is required for this role. Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must satisfy eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. Citizenship is essential for obtaining a clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct system hardening across multiple Operating System (OS) platforms.
- Monitor and evaluate security posture of systems and networks in line with DoD cybersecurity policies and tools.
- Implement MITRE ATT&CK and/or MITRE D3FEND frameworks to enhance threat detection and response strategies.
- Perform advanced threat intelligence analysis and identify emerging threats, providing actionable recommendations.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments utilizing the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and other security tools.
- Analyze vulnerability findings and devise effective remediation plans.
- Address vulnerability findings through vendor patches and configuration modifications for both Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Design, deploy, and uphold security controls across network, hardware, and software components.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
A minimum of ten (10) years of comprehensive experience in the following areas is preferred:
- System hardening for various OS platforms.
- Networking and virtualization expertise.
- Application of DoD cybersecurity policies and the utilization of associated tools.
- Hands-on experience with MITRE ATT&CK or MITRE D3FEND frameworks.
- Conducting threat intelligence assessments and recognizing potential threats.
- Vulnerability assessment experience using ACAS.
- Remediation of vulnerability findings, including implementation of vendor patches on Linux and Windows OS.
- Developing and enforcing security measures on network, hardware, and software systems.
Certifications:
Applicants must possess one of the following DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III baseline certifications:
- CASP+ CE
- CCNP Security
- CISA
- CISSP (Associate)

Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering is required.

This role blends technical precision and Combat System knowledge with government and systems collaboration to enhance integrated shipboard training for the war fighter.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Virginia Beach, VA, offering the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams and government partners supporting the Integrated Training Systems-Systems Engineering contract for the SSDS Engineering Agent located at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division's Dam Neck Activity in Virginia Beach, VA. in a collaborative and secure environment.
