• Operate the equipment safely and to ensure each load is complete and properly secured at all times.
• Be Responsible for all electronic communication while the truck is in motion, drivers are not allowed by law to use cell phones while the truck is in motion, also responsible for GPS programming and assisting the driver with the best route.
• Have to remain alert for changing road conditions, hazards, low bridges etc, also must exit vehicle and assist driver whenever truck is backing up, parking, moving close to a structure, always watching for obstructions, wires, tree branches etc, no texting or non company issued electronic devices are to be used while in the vehicle.

• Be able to lift 45-60 lbs. Up to 100 lbs. with a 2-person lift.
• Have good communication and customer service skills.
• Be able to read, speak and comprehend English, bi-lingual helpful. Position is required to call customers.
• Be able to use handheld devices for delivery recordkeeping as well as check texts and emails as needed.

Job Description

Assist with delivering packages up to 300lbs in company provided DOT regulated box trucks. Approximate hours are 5:10am- 3:30pm. Shifts are approximately 9 to 11 hours per day, and we have shifts available 7 days a week!

Responsibilities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with the delivery of product into Dunkin stores using an electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack and/or two-wheel hand truck. Product will be segregated into freezer, cooler, dry and chemicals.

• Assist the driver with identifying the product(s) on the delivery truck under various lighting conditions that may exist in the trailer or delivery truck.

• Learn product descriptions and box types to assist in the proper delivery of product at each location.

• Assist the driver in placing stock into the proper delivery zone in the store (freezer, cooler and dry).

• Lift boxes and bags of varying sizes and weights frequently during the course of a day.

• Divert traffic to promote a safe working environment for the driver to back up into the store parking lot and delivery area. Guide the driver through parking lots.

• Navigate through busy parking lots and intersections while delivering product using a two-wheel hand truck, an electric or manual pallet jack.

• Climb in and out to the tractor and trailers repeatedly throughout the day.

• Safely operate the side and rear lift gates on the delivery vehicles.

• Assist the driver with any other requests within safety guidelines and/or company policy .

Supervision Exercised

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

FUNCTION :

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, operate a District delivery vehicle; perform a variety record-keeping duties; move furniture and equipment; and perform routine maintenance duties.

Major Responsibilities

REQUISITE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES INCLUDE :

Knowledge of the California Motor Vehicle Code, proper operating procedures for District vehicles, health and safety regulations, record-keeping regulations, and routine vehicle servicing and maintenance. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Experience driving a private or commercial delivery vehicle, preferably including substantial public contact. Class C license required.
