Position Overview
The Senior Demand Planning Manager at Hydrojug will lead forecasting and demand planning activities across multiple product lines and regions. This role ensures accurate demand signals are integrated into supply, production, and financial planning processes, enabling optimal inventory and customer service performance. Overview
The Sr. Manager of Demand Planning & Forecasting will be responsible for leading the development and execution of demand forecasts that support our supply chain and business strategy. This role focuses on driving forecast accuracy, optimizing inventory levels, and supporting cross-functional initiatives across sales, merchandising, product development, and operations. The Sr. Manager will own the day-to-day forecasting processes while working to improve tools, methodologies, and collaboration within the planning ecosystem.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Forecasting & Planning Execution
- Develop rolling demand forecasts at SKU, category, and channel levels using historical data, sales trends, seasonality, and promotional calendars.
- Build and maintain baseline and adjusted forecasts to support new product introductions, discontinuations, and portfolio transitions.
- Support scenario planning by modeling the impact of various demand drivers such as pricing changes, marketing initiatives, and external events.
Inventory & Supply Chain Alignment
- Monitor forecast accuracy and collaborate with supply planning to adjust purchasing plans accordingly.
- Align forecasts with lead times, MOQs, and production schedules to support inventory turns and target fill rates.
- Partner with logistics to ensure inbound shipment plans align with forecasted demand and receiving capacities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Merchandising and Sales to translate product and promotional strategies into accurate demand projections.
- Attend weekly or monthly S&OP meetings to represent demand insights and advocate for forecast adjustments based on real-time data.
- Provide forecast-related insights and exception reports to Finance for cash flow and revenue planning.
Tools, Reporting & Process Improvement
- Manage and optimize Excel-based forecast models and contribute to tool improvements alongside IT or external consultants.
- Generate regular forecast accuracy, bias, and fill rate reports; investigate discrepancies and take corrective action.
- Recommend enhancements to planning processes, data sources, and cross-functional handoffs to reduce inefficiencies.
Stakeholder Communication
- Create and share weekly/monthly reports and dashboards to communicate key forecast updates, changes, and risks.
- Act as a knowledge hub for demand-related inputs across new product launches, dropship programs, and key accounts.
