Skills:
- Diagnoses ailments and abnormalities of gums, teeth and mouth and provides appropriate treatments and drug prescriptions
- Locates and repairs cavities, prepares and fits dental crowns and performs appropriate procedures for molding, capping and recapping teeth
- Maintains dental histories and charts on patients
- Recommends correction of complex dental treatments through counseling and referrals
- Guides and counsels patients on preventive dental care
- Provide direct dental treatment which includes the provision of care within all fields of dentistry, including urgency care, operative dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, periodontics, prevention and pediatrics
- Conduct examinations, diagnoses and treatment are required
- You will also be responsible for the maintenance of accurate diagnoses, consent and treatment records

Qualifications:
- A Doctor of Dental Surgery or a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from an American Dental Association accredited college or university
- Active license as a Dentist, as required by State Board

Duties and Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
- Serves as an office facilitator for all personnel by acting as liaison between office and Corporate and provides positive leadership.
- Supervises all treatment support systems and patient flow sequencing.
- Maintains collection controls and systems.
- Monitors overall expenses in the office.
- Oversees daily closeout functions as well as daily deposit with the corporate office.
- Evaluates work performance of subordinates and mentors, counsels, and provides discipline when necessary.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5+ years work experience in a dental or medical office with at least 1+ years as supervisor or management level with direct reports required.
- Strong customer service orientation towards patients and staff.
- Easily able to learn new technologies and systems required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Requires some flexibility in scheduling, such as the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Experience using Outlook, Word, Excel required.
- High School diploma or GED required.
Knowledge and Skills/Expected Competencies
- Strong customer service orientation towards patients and staff.
- Easily able to learn new technologies and systems as required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to review critical issues, effectively solve problems and create action plans.

About the Role
You will be responsible for the co-ordination of all necessary support services and supervision of the day-to-day running of the dental facility. You will manage the practice in relation to administration, quality systems, budgetary requirements and staffing matters and enable the delivery of high-quality dental healthcare to patients in accordance with Australian Standards and Defence Policies and Procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
Diploma in Practice Management OR a minimum of 2 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) experience as Practice Manager within the last 5 years
Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
Demonstrated management skills such as leadership, staff development, and conflict resolution.
About Wagga Health Centre
The Wagga Health Centre is located at RAAF Base Wagga at Forest Hill, South-East of Wagga Wagga and has been an integral part of the community since 1940. Known as the Home of the Airman, it houses the RAAF schools of Technical Training, Administration & Logistics and Postgraduate Studies. Services provided include primary medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy. Health Centre staff may be required to work across Wagga & Kapooka. Standard hours of operation are generally Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).
