The anticipated salary range for this role is between $65,000.00 and $80,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. **Role Description**
The Derivatives unit is a part of the Treasury Operations group within BCDAD and is responsible for the confirmation, settlement, clearance, payment and reconciliation of derivative transactions executed by the bank's domestic and global branch offices.
The Derivatives Analyst is responsible for review of the administrators and representatives daily processing of confirmations and settlements for securities trades. The Analyst may act as a subject matter expert and be responsible to resolve some complex matters. May be responsible to identify and implement improvements to policies and procedures. May lead a small team and train others. Reports to the Director level. Number of direct reports: up to 5. Number of indirect reports: none.
**Responsibilities**
+ Prepares and inputs settlement instructions for timely and efficient processing
+ Reconciles outstanding items; ensures trades are settled
+ Researches discrepancies, troubleshoots issues and addresses them
+ Generates quarterly position and audit reports for management review
+ Resolves routine matters and escalates anomalies as appropriate
+ Acts as a technical resource for junior staff members
+ Prepares or verifies daily reports in compliance with regulatory requirements (Dodd-Frank, EMIR, Canada)

**Qualifications and Skills**
+ 3 - 5 years of comparable or relevant experience
+ Experience in a back office operations environment is desirable

Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Portfolio Operations, the Derivatives Specialist will play a key role in the Firm's ongoing use of equity derivatives. In addition to working closely with internal and external Operations teams, this role will collaborate with the Trading and Portfolio Management/Implementation teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of equity swaps and futures operational workflows. As the Firm continues to grow in assets, strategies, and capabilities, this role represents a unique opportunity to lead and shape the operational infrastructure supporting our expanding equity derivatives platform. The successful candidate will play a critical role in establishing and managing processes across all facets of derivative operations.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the lifecycle of derivative positions, including trade confirmations, settlement, and margin calls
- Collaborate with brokers to facilitate new account openings, trade execution processes and efficient settlement processes
- Work closely with the Trading, Portfolio Management and Operations teams to resolve issues and provide timely answers to inquiries.
- Assist in reconciliation and research of positions, interest accruals, and other variances
- Lead and mentor other Operations team members on derivatives

- Strong understanding of derivative products and thorough knowledge of various derivative instruments used in managing global equity portfolios
- Familiarity with Geneva accounting system
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills

- Excellent communication skills: ability to clearly explain technical concepts to team members and stakeholders

The pay range for this position is $79,601 - $145,100 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. **The Role at a Glance**
The Quantitative Derivatives Lead will perform and deliver on assignments utilized to mitigate market risks for Lincoln Financial by identifying and reporting on key risks for variable annuities, indexed variable annuities, and other insurance products. This position focuses on operations, performance, and analysis within indexed and variable annuity hedge programs.
**What you'll be doing**
**Technical Knowledge**
-Develops and enhances operational processes including daily risk exposure validation, hedging performance and month - end valuation
-Analyzes daily/weekly/monthly P/L and creates tools for generating performance attribution
-Manages and interprets database-driven results to facilitate hedging and reporting
-Creates and provides hedge performance reporting that feeds hedging strategy and enables risk mitigation improvements

-Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility
**Change Management**
-Serves as a resource organizational initiative by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility

**What we're looking for**
**Education**
-Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience; educational concentration in Mathematics, Statistics, Hard Science/engineering or Actuarial Science is required
-Master's level or Advanced degree preferred but not required
**Experience**
-3-5 years of increasing experience in variable annuity market risk management or related field.
-Knowledge of capital markets, derivatives, and insurance products including but not limited to annuities.
-Strong programming skills (Python, SQL, VBA)
-Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

The pay range for this position is $79,601 - $145,100 with **anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range** and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Contribute to the commercial development of HSBC's structured products franchise in the US. Work with the salesforce and trading teams to identify new commercial opportunities and design, or onboard new equity derivative structures to meet current and future client demand.
