What will you do?

Vans is looking for a visionary Senior Manager, Design, Color Concept to lead seasonal storytelling through bold, elevated palettes across our global footwear and apparel lines.

This is not just a colorist role - it's a creative leadership position where you'll shape the color direction of one of the most iconic brands in streetwear and action sports. You'll translate trend, consumer insight, and brand heritage into powerful color narratives that move culture.

  • Define and own the seasonal color direction for all footwear and apparel categories

  • Build cohesive, consumer-first color stories aligned with the Vans creative vision

  • Deliver color tools, usage guides, and visual assets that fuel our product design teams

  • Collaborate with design, merchandising, and marketing to bring color strategy to life across the brand

We're Looking For A: Visual Design Intern to support the visual design team by assisting with a wide range of creative work—including packaging, print, and web design—primarily by adapting templates, following brand guidelines, and preparing production-ready files. They focus on accurate execution, organizing and exporting assets, and maintaining design consistency across multiple brands, while developing foundational skills through close collaboration and feedback. An ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive to direction, and comfortable working across a variety of established brand guidelines. They need to be proactive, and eager to grow, with a strong desire to learn and contribute to a collaborative, fast-paced creative team.

Location: Remote (Woodland Hills, CA) - must be able to work PST hours

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Execute templated design work across web, graphics, packaging, and print, following established brand guidelines and design systems.
  • Adapt designs for multiple formats and channels (e.g., resizing banners, reformatting for devices, updating copy or product images).
  • Create and update static ads (e.g., Facebook) and low-effort graphic assets such as icons or simple illustrations.
  • Export production-ready files and optimized assets for web and print.
  • Route design updates and revisions based on feedback from visual designers and QA checks.
  • Support with image editing, mockups, and asset resizing.
  • Maintain organized Figma files, components, and brand guidelines, following naming conventions.
  • Keep Google Drive folders structured and files properly named.
  • Help gather visual inspiration for photoshoots in line with brand guidelines.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Collaborate with sales, project managers, and partners to design and develop tailored AV solutions that meet client needs
  • Conduct site surveys, when applicable, to gather technical information critical for accurate system design and proposal development
  • Create and maintaining proposals using D-Tools, ensuring pricing (this is technically not on design, currently it is a share responsibility amongst AV, so I recommend removing that statement), scope, and documentation are aligned
  • Support the pre-sales process with preliminary system drawings when requested, modeling, and documentation
  • Produce complete system designs to include the bills of materials, scopes of work, AV drawings, and rack layouts when required. and budget estimates
  • Work closely with AV Drafters to deliver comprehensive design documentation, such as schematics, elevations, and AV plans. and cabling schedules
  • Participate in client and partner meetings as a technical representative
  • Safeguard confidential information, including client relationships, project data, and company IP

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent industry experience
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in the Audio Visual industry, with a focus on systems design
  • Experience working in D-Tools (preferred but not necessary) and proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD; experience with AV drawing production is preferred
  • Understanding of network topology and the ability to integrate AV over IP systems
  • Ability to interpret construction documents and align AV designs with architectural and MEP infrastructure
  • Familiarity with installation practices for ceiling- and wall-mounted AV equipment, rack assembly, cabling infrastructure, and AV terminations
  • Ability to read and interpret Crestron, AMX, or Extron control code is a plus but not required
  • Strong time management and project coordination skills across multiple, overlapping deadlines
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, vendors, and internal teams
  • High attention to detail and commitment to process accuracy
  • A continuous learning mindset with a commitment to maintaining current knowledge of emerging AV technologies and pursuing certifications as needed
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as required by project demands.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The hiring compensation range for this position is a base salary of $80,000 - $112,000.
