GAF is looking for a Design Services/ Architectural Intern. The ideal candidate for this role is majoring in Design, Architecture, Construction Management or a similar field. This intern will support technical roofing application support across project lifecycle from specification to guarantee issuance, with an added focus on developing and enhancing system visualizations and renderings inline with current design industry standards. The intern will have a great deal of opportunity to learn, contribute, and develop leadership skills. This position is based in our Corporate location in Parsippany, NJ.
**Essential Duties:**
+ Learn about GAF's Commercial Roofing business.
+ Understand GAF's Design Services team tasks and how they achieve business goals.
+ Collaborate within and across teams to provide technical roofing application support across project lifecycle from specification to guarantee issuance on real life projects.
+ Learn how to locate, review, and interpret product information through various sources including but not limited to GAF published literature, code agencies i.e. Underwriters Laboratories, Factory Mutual, and Miami DADE

+ Provide support for the guarantee/warranty-related repair invoices to ensure proper compliance with manufacturer recommendations. Ensure repair costs are in sync with market expectations.

The designer is responsible for creating and designing albums for customers using the Artifact Uprising editor, a third-party proofing system, and Adobe tools when needed. + Review weekly hours/costs and monthly reports; prepare monthly status reports.

+ Communicate trends, successes and concerns to the design project manager
+ Understand project design and construction requirements), contract drawings, plans issued for construction, Design Quality Plan, PMP, and all other pertinent documents
+ Assist design project manager in preparation of invoices and progress reports

Who You Are
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline.
+ 12+ years of relevant post education experience within the industry.
+ Engineer license preferred.
+ Prior experience performing DSDC
+ Advanced proficiency with infrastructure design.
+ Technical expertise in additional fields such as bridge design/construction, roadway design/construction, MOT, utilities or drainage is preferred.
+ Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
+ Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with employees at all levels of the organization.

+ Manage and oversee drawing revisions to ensure integrity of design intent. Perform quality checks on new drawings or drawing markups to verify intent of the RFI response is being met. Key job responsibilities
Daily responsibilities will include designing the electrical systems of Data Centers, and utilizing Revit to create and maintain BIM models. You must be able to work independently and work within a team environment to accomplish assigned tasks.
