**The Team:**
The Digital Direct Sales (DDS) team is responsible for the Microsoft Store eCommerce experience. We create a trusted online destination for Consumers and Very Small Businesses to discover, learn and buy the full range of Microsoft products and solutions. The DDS Studio is committed to delivering best-in-class UX, creative design, and operational excellence. We are dedicated to creating innovative user experiences across various web storefronts and customer touchpoints. We are seeking a UX Design Lead to join the DDS Studio. This role will lead a team of UX designers and writers in designing and optimizing engaging experiences, driving UX strategy, supporting product launches, and collaborating with business, engineering, data, and experimentation teams to define eCommerce best practices.
**The Role:**
As the UX Design Lead, you will drive innovative, user-centered design solutions for our eCommerce platform. You'll set a high bar for experience design by applying design thinking and data-informed strategies to create intuitive, impactful experiences that evolve with the business and customer expectations.
In this role, you'll lead by example-owning end-to-end design work while collaborating closely with cross-functional partners across marketing, engineering, and product. You'll help shape the future of our web direct capabilities, ensuring consistency and excellence across digital touchpoints.

**Responsibilities**
+ Define the structure, usability, and functionality of digital experiences across the customer journey.
+ Lead UX research to uncover user needs, behaviors, and motivations that inform design decisions.
+ Apply design thinking and other frameworks to drive innovation, solve real customer problems, and influence business outcomes.
+ Create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to communicate and validate design ideas.
+ Optimize conversion rates using A/B testing, heatmaps, and behavioral insights.
+ Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders through storytelling and data.
+ Monitor post-launch performance and iterate based on user feedback and KPIs.
+ Stay current with UX trends, tools, and technologies-especially in AI.
+ Champion inclusive design by adhering to WCAG standards and designing for diverse users.
**Qualifications**
**Required/Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design
+ OR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 4+ years of experience with Figma, prototyping, and design systems.
**Other requirements:**
+ All applications must include a digital portfolio showcasing end-to-end design thinking, systems design, and measurable impact.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 8+ years of professional experience in UX design.
+ A passion for tools, automation, and AI.
+ Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and information architecture.

Product Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $34,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD 158,400 - 258,000 per year.
