Job Description
Who we are
At SonicJobs we’re building the next generation of autonomous web agents based on computer-use technologies. Our agents operate on job application flows, like candidates do. If you’ve ever dreamed of designing products powered by AI that actually use a website, this is your moment.
We’re a small, tight-knit team with big ambitions, leveraging bleeding-edge tools to build agents that understand and control web environments end-to-end.
We move fast, avoid unnecessary hierarchy, and aim high. We’re not automating job applications — we’re redefining how job applications work in order to allow candidates to find the opportunity they deserve.
We are backed by top VC firms and serve more than one hundred corporate clients including several Fortune 500 companies.
About the role
We’re looking for a UI/UX Designer to craft intuitive, beautiful, and effective experiences across SonicJobs’ products. You will take ownership of the design process from concept to delivery: user research, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity visuals, and design systems. You’ll work closely with Product and Engineering to bring our AI-driven job application experiences to life, ensuring they are both user-friendly and visually compelling.
This is a hands-on role with big impact. You’ll shape the look and feel of how candidates and clients interact with our platform, helping to simplify complex flows and make cutting-edge AI approachable. You’ll report to the Head of Product and collaborate across functions with engineers, marketers, and researchers.
What you'll do
- Lead end-to-end design of user flows, from discovery to delivery, across web and mobile experiences.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to understand needs and pain points of candidates and hiring managers.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that communicate ideas clearly and effectively.
- Build and maintain design systems ensuring consistency, scalability, and brand alignment.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure accurate, high-quality implementation of your designs.
- Balance usability and business goals when shaping new features and product improvements.
- Stay current on design trends, accessibility standards, and best practices in UX and interaction design.
What you'll bring
- 3–5+ years of experience in UI/UX or Product Design, ideally in tech startups or fast-paced environments.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating design process, problem-solving, and shipped digital products.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with user research methods and translating insights into design solutions.
- Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML/CSS basics) to collaborate effectively with engineers.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present and defend design decisions.
- Ownership mindset : self-driven, collaborative, and adaptable to a startup’s pace.
Bonus points for
- Experience designing for AI-powered or data-heavy applications.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Motion design or micro-interaction skills to enrich user experiences.
What we offer
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- On-site collaboration with a focused, no-BS team.
- Real ownership and the chance to define the product design culture.
- No corporate nonsense — just smart people building ambitious tech.
Sounds like you?
Let’s talk. This isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to design the future of how job platform technology looks and feels.
By applying, you consent to your information being transmitted by College Recruiter to the Employer, as data controller, through the Employer’s data processor SonicJobs.
