**Salary:**
Target base salary range for Baltimore, MD and New York, NY is $150k - $170k, which is based on various factors including skills and work experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive compensation program that is based on individual and company performance.

Position Summary
The Design Lead will report to the Assistant Vice President, Research Administration and Co-Director of the Southwest Region of the of the National Science Foundation's ( NSF ) Research Security and Integrity Information Sharing Analysis Organizations ( RSI - ISAO ) program. The RSI - ISAO effort is led by the University of Washington and entitled, "The SECURE Center: Safeguarding the Entire Community in the U.S. Research Ecosystem."
We are looking for a collaborative and research-oriented Design Lead to join the SECURE Southwest Regional Hub, located at Colorado State University and Texas A&M University. As mandated in the " CHIPS and Science Act of 2022," the SECURE Center, a collaboration between nine institutions of higher education, will apply a co-design approach to serve as a clearinghouse for information to empower the research community to identify and mitigate threats that pose risks to the U.S. research enterprise.
The regional Design Lead will be responsible for (a) managing the regional co-design hub, (b) leading the planning and execution of design activities, and c) coordinating with other regional hubs.
Required Job Qualifications
Education:
+ Bachelor's degree in fields such as Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Social Sciences, or Engineering
Experience:

**Job Description**
**AECOM** 's West Region is actively seeking a highly motivated Civil Design Lead to join the Orange, California Geo-Civil team. Our strong local presence in Southern California opens the doors to significant and interesting projects in the dams, water/waste water and power sectors. In this role there is opportunity to grow technical and non-technical skills alongside a team of seasoned professionals while being given ownership that will stretch your potential.
**The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:**
+ Contribute to the design of regional dams. water/wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, pump stations, levees, spillways, etc.
+ Candidate is expected to mentor junior staff and lead tasks coordinating with multiple teams
+ Generate conceptual layouts/designs and perform calculations/analyses for channels, culverts, headwalls, detention ponds, operating ponds, spillways, rock drains, check dams, and haulage/access/circulation roads.
+ Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, quantity and cost estimates, and alternative assessments.
+ Coordinate and integrate civil design with results from geotechnical, structural, mechanical, and electrical designs.
+ Develop tangible engineering design skills through periodic field experience. This may include construction support (verification of design implementation, adherence to quality, contractor/owner engagement), site inspections, and geotechnical investigations. Also provide construction support from the office by adapting designs to field conditions.
+ Create engineering drawings and visual aids using AutoCAD Civil 3D or Bentley Microstation.
+ Participate actively in client meetings.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree plus six (6) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ Candidate must have a valid driver's license
**Preferred Qualifications**

**Job Summary:**
As a Design Manager at NorthStar Fire Protection, you are responsible for leading a team of design professionals on large-scale fire alarm projects, ensuring the project is on schedule, per code, and in accordance with the specified design standards. This includes supervising Fire Alarm and VESDA systems 2D, 3D, and BIM designers and managers. The role also involves effective communication with the design team, project managers, and clients, while maintaining high standards of quality, documentation, and compliance.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ 100% on-site position as a managing part of our team.
+ Oversee daily on-site and remote working environments for fire alarm and VESDA design.
+ Oversee all design related RFI's for the project.
+ Validate scope matches the contract and redline changes as needed.
+ Report daily constraints and productivity using standard formats and portals.
+ Evaluate and approve client deliverables such as product submittals, shop drawings, IFF's, etc.
+ Attend all LSS discipline workgroup meetings with GCs on a weekly basis.
+ Assist in the management of the schedule and ensure the design team maintains the schedule.
+ Manage budget and provide reports according to requirements.
+ Coordinate with the management team daily, weekly, monthly, 90 Day, and other reporting documents for lookahead planning and execution.
+ Report any scheduling delays, personnel issues, safety concerns/incidents to your direct supervisor in a timely manner.
+ Report on-site manpower to Daily Diary process manager.
+ Ensure the company's design equipment, vehicles, and tools are safe, clean and well maintained in accordance with company policies.
+ Review of all design employees according to company policy.
+ Ensure that the work is performed in a safe manner.
+ Fulfill all other duties as assigned and needed between the demand.
**Qualifications:**
+ High school diploma or state-recognized GED, associate or bachelor's degree.
+ 10+ years of experience in the commercial fire and life safety industry in a leadership role.
+ 10+ years of experience with designing Edwards and VESDA systems with Revit is recommended for this positon.
+ Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of local and national fire alarm codes (NFPA, IFC, ADA, UL, IBC, IEC, NEC, etc.) and regulations as well as the ability to read and understand drawings and specifications and electrical, network, and control wiring diagrams.
+ Experience with Microsoft Office, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam etc.
+ Strong analytical, critical thinking and mathematical aptitude, with attention to detail.
+ Good working knowledge of sophisticated fire detection and alarm systems and ability to read and understand blueprints.
+ Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities under time constraints.
+ NICET IV certified, Autodesk certified, BIM certified individuals preferred.
