What You'll Do
- Create, document, and maintain visual components, patterns, and styles within the design system.
- Evolve and refine the visual language to ensure consistency, scalability, and alignment with brand guidelines.
- Identify gaps and propose new components or patterns to address emerging needs.
- Collaborate closely with product designers, engineers, and cross-functional partners to ensure design system adoption and integration.
- Facilitate onboarding and provide guidance to teams on design system best practices.
- Audit and review product interfaces to ensure adherence to design system standards.
- Advocate for visual consistency, accessibility, and inclusive design across all digital products.
- Maintain high standards for visual quality, usability, and accessibility.
- Develop clear, comprehensive documentation for components, patterns, and usage guidelines.
- Communicate design rationale and system updates to stakeholders and the broader design community.
- Present and articulate design decisions to cross-functional teams and leadership.
- Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to inform ongoing improvements to the design system.
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in visual design and design systems.
- Contribute to a culture of learning, mentorship, and design excellence within the organization.
Our Desired Profile
- Degree in relevant design discipline (e.g., Interaction Design, HCI, User Experience Design), certification from credible bootcamp or similar accelerated learning program, or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of enterprise, system-level or design systems experience
- Ability to synthesize complex, interdependent, and sometimes competing needs
- Demonstrated experience with user-centered and human-centered design approaches
- Prior work involves collaboration within design teams (with other designers, UX researchers, and content designers) and cross-functionally with software engineers
- Demonstrates strong Interaction Design and Visual/UI skills
- Proficiency in adjacent skills such as Information Architecture, User Research, UX Writing, and Prototyping
- Able to show how their understanding of technical constraints and opportunities informed design solutions; familiar with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
