Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Design Engineer direct hire position in Indianapolis, IN.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and document manufacturing-ready engineering designs, ensuring deadlines for development and drawings are met.
  • Contribute to all stages of the design-build process, supporting multiple projects from concept to installation.
  • Assist with material procurement when required.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design, machine building, or design/build projects

A Design Engineer's main function is to provide presales support by acting as a technical consultant to the sales force, generating functional system descriptions, block flow diagrams and equipment lists to enable generation of customer proposals. A Design Engineer is also leveraged by the post sales team for project engineering and or ongoing project consultation.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're hiring a passionate, proven UX leader to drive the next generation of Ford.com experiences (web + mobile). As a UX Manager, you will set direction AND design. You'll mentor and grow a high-performing team while personally delivering key flows, prototypes, and design artifacts. You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and Brand to ship experiences that meet business goals, elevate our design quality, and deepen customer relationships. You will: understand customer behavior, shape concepts for new products and features, and ensure decisions are grounded in data and research. You'll also help evolve our design system, tooling, and ways of working. **Responsibilities (Internal & External)** **50% People & Team Leadership** + Hire, mentor, and manage a high-performing UX team (designers + leads). + Establish clear goals, feedback loops, rituals, and a healthy, inclusive team culture. + Define processes, standards, and quality bars for the team's work. + Set creative and strategic vision for your product areas and advocate for UX across stakeholders. **50% Hands-On Design & Craft** + Lead and execute end-to-end product/design work: IA, flows, wireframes, high-fidelity UI, prototypes. + Guide and contribute to the Ford design system; ensure consistency and scalability. + Drive and apply research insights (qual + quant) to inform decisions and measure outcomes. + Collaborate daily with Product and Engineering in an agile environment to ship and iterate quickly. **Additional** + Travel: ~<10% overnight **Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in UX/Interaction/Product/Visual Design (or equivalent experience). + 7+ years designing digital products with agile teams (web/mobile). + Demonstrated experience leading teams or major initiatives. + Proficiency with modern design/prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC). + Portfolio showing exceptional customer experiences, strong interaction/UI craft, and leadership impact (case studies expected). **Preferred Qualifications** + Master's degree in a related design discipline (or equivalent experience). + Experience conducting discovery research and user validation. + Track record on high-profile consumer sites/apps (e-commerce a plus). + Expert visual design acumen and ownership of end-to-end product design. + Ability to prototype (tools or code). + Understanding of modern front-end tech/frameworks. + Automotive or complex configurable product experience. + Thrives in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
