**Job Summary**
Proficient in performing daily work activities with minimal supervision. Proficient level work activities to be performed include: computer aided drafting to prepare and maintain maps, sketches, schematics and other engineering related drawings. **Designer:**
**What You'll Do:**
1) Create, revise and maintain engineering and record drawings, and sketches.
2) Support the creation, revision, and maintenance of facilities and equipment documents; including but not limited to construction, equipment, property documents and records.
3) Obtain information required to perform work from verbal communication, sketches, marked drawings, listings, field notes, vendors' catalogs and technical reference manuals and site visits.
4) Perform mathematical calculations required to accomplish assigned work.
5) Proficiency in the use of computer aided design software.
6) Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software.
7) Work with other organizations of the Company to coordinate the work and assure that it is performed in a safe and efficient manner.
8) Read vendors' prints, shop and other drawings and equipment operating instructions, and incorporate that information into the work being performed.
9) Assist in training AEP employees in basic skills of the position.
10) Promote and support the Company's Accident Prevention and Safety and Health programs.
11) Demonstrate ethical behavior as outlined in the AEP corporate policies.
12) Support the AEP Corporate Compliance policies.
13) Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
**What we are looking for:**
Education requirements are listed below: Associate degree in applied science (AAS) drafting and computer aided design (CAD) or in civil, electrical or mechanical engineering technology, with one to two years of relevant equivalent experience. Work Experience requirement listed below: Equivalent experience without AAS degree - high school graduate and 6 years of experience in electric utility and/or related industrial drafting and/or computer aided drafting work.
**Other Must Haves:**
Must be available to work overtime, call-out overtime and shift work, as required. Travel requirements are expected > 50 % of the time. Physical demand level is Sedentary .Must be familiar with conventional drafting symbols and drafting methods and have the ability to distinguish colors. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and possess and maintain a valid state driver's license. Must meet all vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and/or state law. 3) Create, revise and maintain material and property equipment records.

**What We're Looking For:**

A day in the life as a Designer.

  • Interact with customers to identify commercial foodservice equipment needs and promote the benefits of Trimark's various design services
  • Perform site visits to survey existing conditions, gather project information, or identify equipment needs
  • Determine size, scope, and budget of a project through effective communication with customer. Offer equipment recommendations based on industry knowledge
  • Work independently to create commercial foodservice equipment designs that utilize available floor space and meet the customer's operational and budgetary requirements
  • Must be able to utilize AutoCad and/or Revit to coordinate with design team members
  • Must have sound technical understanding of plumbing and electrical systems and be able to identify and locate utility services and building conditions required for proper installation of foodservice equipment
  • Produce construction document sets and collaborate with architects and engineers for integration of foodservice equipment designs and utility rough-in drawings into overall project
  • Produce foodservice equipment elevations and incorporate appropriate construction details
  • Must be able to proactively communicate and manage lead times. It is essential that project needs are met timely
  • Must be able to identify and produce complete scope of work for project, including trade responsibilities, installation requirements, and manufacture specifications with selected accessories
  • Effectively communicate with foodservice equipment manufacturers to drive the development of shop drawings for custom or modified equipment related to a design
