We are looking for a skilled ServiceNow Development Leader to join our internal service center within the Digital Modernization Sector. This person will play a pivotal role in supporting self-hosted/on-prem ServiceNow implementations and best practices for our Federal Government customers. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in ServiceNow, be a self-starter, and lead a team in addressing our customers' expanding ServiceNow needs.
Primary Responsibilities
Engage in hands-on development work as part of a team located in Lorton, VA, while fulfilling management and Solutions Architect responsibilities.
Work in-office full-time, unless otherwise instructed by leadership.
Support operation hours Monday - Friday, 8 hours a day, while being available for mission-critical deadlines in a 24x7x365 environment.
Exhibit extensive knowledge of commonly-used IT concepts, best practices, and procedures within a DoD environment and specifically within ServiceNow.
Guide and oversee the ServiceNow development team, setting coding standards, conducting code reviews, and designing aligned solutions that meet business and architectural needs.
Act as the lead developer for complex features and integrations, which includes coding, testing, debugging, and mentoring developers across experience levels in the team, while addressing performance issues and optimizing the instance.
Provide technical direction for ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) modules, focusing particularly on Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM).
Configure and maintain Discovery and Service Mapping to automatically classify infrastructure and visually represent business services and their IT components.
Utilize and manage UI Actions, UI Policies, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, and email scripts among others.
Manage all technical aspects of a self-hosted ServiceNow instance, including instance upgrades, patch management, and ensuring system stability and performance.
Proactively solve routine problems with prescribed solutions while being prepared to address unforeseen issues as they arise.
Collaborate closely with cloud infrastructure and engineering teams to manage the self-hosted environment, contributing to system maintenance, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Engage with stakeholders, including the Enterprise Help Desk, Business Analysts, and Project Managers to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and provide expertise throughout project lifecycles.
Assist in creating relevant documentation for the EHD Tier 1 team and Program end users concerning ServiceNow functionalities.
Adapt to changing work requirements, effectively juggling multiple tasks and priorities with discretion.
Develop business process maps and support system engineering documentation to aid in process development.
Receive guidance and direction while being capable of working both independently and within a team setting, keeping leadership informed of progress and challenges.
Expand conceptual knowledge in your area of expertise while cultivating additional skill sets.
Exhibit knowledge and experience with APIs, including both custom and out-of-the-box implementations on the ServiceNow platform.
Represent the team effectively in meetings, showcasing strong elicitation skills in conversations with customers and the creation of necessary artifacts.
Build and maintain constructive relationships among employees, customers, stakeholders, technical teams, and the Program Management Office.
Comply with Leidos managerial responsibilities, even when it necessitates working beyond standard hours.
The successful candidate will adapt to client needs and support the implementation of the ServiceNow roadmap. They will collaborate with diverse teams within a matrix environment, effectively communicating to gather and synthesize requirements from various stakeholders.
Clearance Required:
Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance or ability to acquire a SCI prior to starting.
Capacity to complete an eligibility investigation post-start date.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with at least 6 years.
A minimum of 4 years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Active CompTIA Security+ certification or ability to obtain prior to start date.
Experience with IT security compliance within classified environments.
Minimum of 6 years hands-on experience with ServiceNow development.
Proven experience managing a self-hosted ServiceNow instance, encompassing knowledge of underlying infrastructure components, such as:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) system administration and security practices.
MariaDB database administration, including performance tuning and backup/recovery.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure is preferred, as it supports the self-hosted instance for virtual hosts.
Exceptional customer service, communication, organizational, and technical skills with the ability to relay complex concepts clearly to varied audiences.
Demonstrated familiarity with the ServiceNow ITOM Visibility package, including troubleshooting Discovery and maintaining Service Mapping.
A strong foundation in networking concepts, knowledge of associated protocols, and diagnostics.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education:
Certifications such as ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) are advantageous.
Solid understanding of ITIL and its application within the ServiceNow platform.
Prior managerial or technical experience with a focus on mentoring developers and leading project teams.
Deep knowledge of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and maintaining a clean CMDB.
Familiarity with ITAM modules, particularly SAM and HAM, along with their configuration to support asset management processes.
Experience with DoD programs and Air Force Life Cycle Management Center initiatives.
Other relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, ServiceNow, JIRA, CompTIA, Microsoft Azure, etc.) are beneficial.

The group is currently building a Permanent Supportive Housing project with a target population of Homeless w/ Mental Illness, Homeless with Seniors and Homeless Veterans at the 30 – 50% AMI level in LA County.
The Opportunity
KM Partners has been retained in the search for an Affordable Housing Development leader to be based out of California for the for-profit affiliate of a multifaceted organization that includes a foundation dedicated to building infrastructure for those suffering from mental health conditions, substance abuse disorders, and homelessness. Our client is expanding its U.S. Affordable Housing portfolio. The company currently has several projects in development in LA County and 5 more in their pipeline. This role will be central to scaling the US Affordable Housing platform, with the goal of adding at least 5-6 projects per year and continuing to grow the team and expand from there. This position will offer participation in the economics of their deals.
In collaboration with the Principles, the Leader of Affordable Housing Development is responsible for acquisitions and developments throughout their lifecycle, including sourcing, and for its ultimate handoff to the asset management and property management teams. With help from project management and other support staff, the Development leader will oversee closing, budget and construction tracking and will lead underwriting, presentations, team coordination, city communication, internal approvals and communication, budgets and forecasts. This key role includes market analysis/selection, evaluating each investment, finding development opportunities, sourcing asset acquisition opportunities, sourcing funding or partnership opportunities, and overall relationship-building.
