Overview
The Director of Business Development will represent Everglades Boats to execute sales strategies for a group of dealers within the United States. This role will require a high energy and high integrity individual to simultaneously manage multiple complex projects and relationships. This role will provide a very hands-on approach to dealer relations and therefore requires extensive travel.
Essential Functions
- Partner with dealers to understand the critical success factors of their businesses and aid them in growing sales and strengthening customer ownership experiences
- Use industry knowledge and market information to support dealers in the development of sales, marketing and customer service strategies
- Frequently visit assigned dealers to maintain a deep understanding of each dealer's business and to closely manage relationships
- Attend boat shows within the region to support retail sales activities and for a limited number of critical shows, assist with set-up activities
- Periodically interact with retail customers to assist in their purchase decisions and to address customer service matters, when necessary
- Train dealers' sales and customer service personnel on Everglades' products, processes, and overall Everglades experience
- Utilize technical knowledge of Everglades' boat models and support from Everglades' customer service and engineering personnel to respond to dealer and customer inquiries and to assist with problem-solving
- Establish new relationships with premium boat dealerships in open markets and assess dealers in existing markets with the goal of driving increased results through driving the Everglades experience
- Intimately understand Everglades' sales and marketing programs to support dealers in the achievement of their purchase milestones and obligations
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders to include providing voice of customer feedback
- Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline preferred
- Minimum 5-10 years of dealer development experience, with focus on the marine or powersports industries highly desired
- A willingness to travel up to 50% of the time and spend time at the Everglades factory in Edgewater, Florida
- Experience using web-based sales systems, including CRM and lead management systems. Other software packages, such as Excel and PowerPoint are expected
- Strong business acumen, sound business judgment and decision-making skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
