JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to lead and enhance our organization's technical infrastructure, AWS, and system reliability. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong technical background to ensure our systems are robust, secure, and scalable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure systems, including AWS cloud services, data centers, co-location facilities, and network connectivity
- Ensure the reliability and scalability of software delivery pipelines and disaster recovery systems
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to support system migrations, monitor critical systems, and maintain system operations
- Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and data loss
- Supervise and mentor the infrastructure team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Manage product delivery infrastructure via CI/CD pipelines
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Cloud infrastructure management, with at least 4 years in a leadership role
- Proficiency in AWS services is required
- Experience in infrastructure as code (i.e. cloudformation, CDK, troposphere, etc.)
- Experience with ECS, Lambda, and Docker, github workflows, Python or Java is preferred
- Strong understanding of IT operations, platform services, and system reliability
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Familiarity with managing offshore teams and coordinating with international offices is preferred

- Mastery of cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Experience with infrastructure tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Skilled in CI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI) and monitoring tools (New Relic, Dynatrace).

- Collaborate with product teams and the India-based DevOps team to plan, design and develop the core infrastructure for our products.

- Manage Ema product deployments within Ema's SaaS environments, customer cloud environments, and secured air-gapped environments.
- Drive the automation of infrastructure tasks, from provisioning to configuration management and deployment, utilizing tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate closely with the software development team to refine CI/CD pipelines, e.g., using GitHub Actions and Cloud Build tools, enhance service interfaces, and improve the overall developer experience.
- Architect and implement advanced observability solutions using tools like Prometheus and Grafana. Ensure real-time alerting and error tracking with Sentry and Pagerduty to maintain system health and performance.

The Senior DevOps Engineering Manager reports to Director of Engineering, DevOps COE, where our mission is to help our product engineering teams deliver faster with improved quality and reliability. This role will lead a team of internal and vendor engineers to design, implement, and manage the infrastructure and processes for software development and deployment, with a focus on automation, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability of systems. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration with development, testing, deployment and operations across our global, segment and market teams.
Responsibilities

Oversee the DevOps team, ensuring they have the resources they need and are meeting performance targets. Handle team management, performance reviews, and professional development

Consult with other DevOps architects and product teams in selection of appropriate automation tools, to define and implement best practices and emerging concepts in DevOps, infrastructure automation, and platform architecture

Act as a bridge between market/segment stakeholders and the development team, ensuring that technical solutions align with business needs

Educate and advise development teams, comprising resources from the test automation, point of sale, digital applications, and backend systems, on how CI/CD standards, tooling and environments can help achieve their objectives; assist in bringing teams together to resolve repetitive issues in the CI/CD pipeline and development environments.
