POSITION SUMMARY:
The Diagnostic Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the operational excellence and delivery readiness of each bus by expertly diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical and electrical issues. This position bridges hands-on technical expertise with cross-functional collaboration—supporting final-stage production, enhancing diagnostic processes, and driving continuous improvement in vehicle quality. Through precise troubleshooting, software updates, and partnership with engineering and final finish teams, the Diagnostic Technician helps ensure every bus meets the highest standards of safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6AM – 4:30PM with availability to support overtime on Friday’s and Saturday’s depending on Production needs.
Wage: $37.50/hour
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues across bus systems
- Perform software updates and system calibrations on various onboard technologies
- Support Final Stages team in resolving outstanding issues prior to delivery
- Learn and apply programming and adjustment techniques for entry and exit doors
- Partner with the Final Finish Supervisor to ensure timely, quality delivery to customers
- Contribute to the development of diagnostic trees, SOPs, and work instructions to improve fault detection and resolution
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify root causes and drive continuous improvement in mechanical quality
- Live and role model company values and culture at all times
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Expert-level proficiency in reading and interpreting automotive electrical and mechanical schematics
- Deep understanding of automotive electrical systems, including advanced CAN BUS architecture
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair both electrical and mechanical issues
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a certified automotive or bus mechanic
- Experience with Cummins Insite diagnostic software is a strong plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution
- Effective communicator with the ability to document findings and collaborate across departments
- Regularly lift up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and work at heights.
- Exposure to vibration and moving mechanical parts is common

Serve as a resource for patients and provider offices, able to answer any questions about testing needed, specimen collection, insurance requirements/medical necessity, and appropriate method for sending labs.
Individuals will appropriately register, identify order issues and troubleshoot, collect patient demographics and payments, check insurance eligibility, and link orders to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of test results to the ordering provider.
Position may be responsible for performing phlebotomy at a variety of locations including in-home, nursing home, or alternate clinics; and may be responsible for transporting specimens.
This position also works closely with the radiology team to assist with patient transfers, performs EKGs and other duties as assigned.

**Responsibilities of the Job (Or Better Known as, Your Next Destination)**
In short, the Diagnostic Technician includes bumper-to-bumper repairs, part replacements and all advanced repairs and builds. The great part, no customers, ever - just you doing what you do best! Fixing Cars!
**In long, our Diagnostic Auto Technicians are responsible for:**
+ Mechanically inspecting vehicles for safety and drivability while documenting findings into our inventory management system.
+ Working with Reconditioning Center Management to repair or reject inventory based on estimated cost of repairs and/or the overall quality of the vehicle.
+ Advanced automotive repairs.
+ Must be proficient in the Cooling, braking, charging, steering/suspension, AC and electrical system Components.
+ Identifying and completing repairs effectively the first time, to minimize re-work and delays in production.
+ Test driving repaired vehicles to ensure that the problem has been completely fixed.
+ Work in ways that decrease the possibility of injury to yourself or other team members in the shop due to spills or other preventable hazardous conditions.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (The Good Stuff)**
+ Industry Experience. Minimum of 5 years on the job experience performing light to medium line work. (Brakes, Engine, Steering/Suspension, Cooling, A/C, Electrical). ASE certified a plus, but not required.
+ Plays well with others. You will be working in a high-functioning team environment. We work together to win together.
+ A mind for the details. Okay we know "detail-oriented" is on about every job description - but we really mean it!
+ Timely. Being "fashionably late" is great outside the job, but on the job you'll need to adhere to regular and predictable attendance.
**Requirements (a.k.a. What You Need to Get the Job Done)**
+ High School Diploma or GED required, ASE Master is nice to have.
+ Vocational/Technical degree or professional experience equivalent.
+ Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
+ This role typically requires 5+ years of experience and the ability to work on all makes and models (Domestic, European and Asian brands).
+ You must own your own tool set.
Must be able to communicate in English to ensure effective performance of the position in a safety-sensitive/technical environment.
