This position will lead the delivery of large-scale, complex construction projects. The role requires full lifecycle project leadership with a strong emphasis on **cost control, schedule management, risk mitigation** , and **team leadership** . The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding internal and external teams to ensure that capital projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Leading construction contract negotiations, managing budgets, change orders, schedule adherence and contingency utilization.
This position will be responsible for all aspects of construction through each stage of major capital projects. With a focus on reducing cost, managing schedule and implementing a robust risk management process. The role will support the Project Team and leads the construction team - a mix of internal/external partners to ensure all aspects, quality control, constructability and safety of the project are achieved along with cost and schedule management.
The candidate will have strong technical knowledge, leadership and team development skills. They must have strong contract and stakeholder management skills and proficiency in collaborating across large complex project teams of engineers, architects and other professions to ensure the project is designed and executed effectively.
**Other deliverables include:**
+ Construction Lead on Projects at all stages, Design, Execution and Handover.
+ Determines the scheduling of different phases of a project base on established deadlines
+ Manages the construction budget and collaborated with the Project Controls lead on Change Control and reporting

**Executive Engagements**
This role will have frequent interaction with the SVP of GREWE and the President of Enterprise Shared Services, and on occasion with other AXP executive committee members. This leader will demonstrate the ability to interact with these senior executives with ease, and also dive deep into details when necessary, interacting with project team members at all levels. The role is expected to frequently present to the GREWE SVP.
**Major Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Lead construction deliverables for GREWE large property development projects at all stages. This includes strategic planning, budget, schedule, pre-construction activities, quality and safety deliverables at all stages of projects
+ Leads the development of pre-construction and construction planning & strategy for projects: across base building and interior fit-out to deliver world class facilities for American Express
+ Act as the senior client representative during construction, ensuring contractor performance and accountability.

**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ 10 years' experience in construction management for major commercial or corporate real estate projects
+ 10 years' experience managing major CM's, GC's and construction trades as third-party vendors to major corporations
+ 10 years' work experience construction management supporting commercial or corporate real estate portfolios, with a clear understanding of the project process.
+ Deep knowledge of cost, schedule and risk on major capital projects.
+ Lead constructability reviews and establish robust approach to construction quality.
+ Ability to translate complex project data into and compelling business cases, analyses and program plans, tailored various stakeholder groups
+ Proactive critical thinking and qualitative/quantitative problem-solving skills (issue identification, problem structuring, analysis, development of recommendations)
+ Exceptional Project Management skills, including ability to lead teams (both Internal & External) build dashboards, presentations and track metrics, and assemble project information into clearly written report that document findings and recommendation and communicate progress.
+ Exceptional organizational skills and ability to focus on details while not losing sight of the big picture
+ Ability to easily partner with and influence senior leaders across the AXP organization
+ Strong team player, ability to take direction and remain flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
+ University/Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management or equivalent.

**ABOUT US**

**SUMMARY**
The Payroll Director assists the company in meeting its objectives and goals by overseeing and performing with effectiveness and accuracy the payroll life cycle for union and non-union employees. This includes understanding and compliance with established accounting principles, practices, and procedures, and regulatory compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and related federal and state laws.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Responsible for the oversight of all payroll activities and payroll team members and the full payroll life cycle to include input, processing, auditing, reporting of taxes and payment distributions to all employees.
+ Responsible for understanding, maintaining and implementing payroll compliance related to Federal and State laws, contractual obligations (e.g. prevailing tax).

+ Responsible for educating and training payroll team members and payroll system end-users on time entry.
+ Ensures the following duties of the payroll department and may also self-perform duties:
+ Ensures payroll department prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, garnishments, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages, and other reports as necessary and assigned.
+ Responsible for certified payroll compliance, reports, and pay treatment calculations for compliance.
+ Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal, state income and social security taxes (and other taxes as applicable), and employer's social security, unemployment payments.
+ Completes payroll audits internally and for external clients and resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing related documentation.
+ Ensure payroll deductions are up to date, accurate and in compliance with Federal and State schedules, and in compliance with company provided benefit plans.
+ Responsible for completing verifications of employment within Federal and State law, and within the company's best practices and policy.
+ Maintains employee confidence by protecting payroll information in confidence and within the company's best practices and policies.
+ Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests for information on behalf of employees and requesting agencies (within the scope of authority).
+ Responsible for meeting internal and external deadlines related to payroll reporting, and paycheck distribution schedules for union (e.g. union reporting) and non-union personnel.

Direct all phases of the process for small to medium-sized clients including procurement, contracting, planning, tracking, and execution.
Ensure that contract procurement, negotiation, execution, administration, and closeouts are accurate, timely, and compliant.
Develop new business growth, negotiate with client, and maintain existing business relationships.
Maintain full responsibility for the financial performance of market, program, and client accounts.
Identify project risks, lead reviews, and develop risk mitigation and backup plans.
Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE (Respect, Integrity, Respect, Excellence values. Persuade managers and other colleagues to take action while being guided by the organization's functional business plans.
Negotiate with external partners, vendors, and customers of divergent interests to reach a common goal.
Significantly improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards with job field. Verify control efficiency including observed outcomes, assessment of resource training, system configuration, and process integration.
**What you'll need**
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
+ Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-12 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. LEED AP, PMP, and/or CCM designation(s) preferred.
+ Experience in construction project controls and organizational controls. Knowledge of project management system implementation, cost management, analytics, and ability to lead a cross functional team to achieve organizational priorities of simplification and cost reduction
+ Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). MS Project or similar project/cost management software.
+ Expert organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mentality.
+ Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

The minimum salary for this position is $170,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $200,000 annually.
