Position Summary

As Director, Data Management & Visualization, you will be pivotal in managing the E2E data and visualization process including collection, aggregation, QA, processing and visualization for a major client while also serving as a consultant to all Mediabrands stakeholders. In addition to managing the day-to-day data and visualization needs of internal and external clients, this role will be managing a high functioning team of managers and/or analysts/sr. analysts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Ownership: Independently run a business unit or portfolio, including full accountability for delivery, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • New Business Setup: Lead setup from scratch for new accounts/businesses, including systems, processes, and data flow design.
  • Data Migrations: Manage and execute large-scale data migration projects and comparable complex assignments.
  • Consistent Processes: Execute consistent processes across Mediabrands clients.
  • Campaign Naming Conventions: Define and ensure adoption of consistent campaign naming structures across platforms and reporting environments.
  • Data Integration: Prepare and integrate outside datasets, including first-party and non-standard digital inputs, into analytics workflows.
  • Data Quality & Anomaly Detection: Implement QA processes and anomaly detection to safeguard data integrity across all deliverables.
  • Leadership Skills and Stakeholder Management:
    • Engage with senior clients, internal leaders, and cross-functional teams to drive adoption of data solutions.
    • Ensure quality work output from onshore/offshore teams
  • Media Platform Knowledge:
    • Campaign Management: CM360, DSPs.

Required Skills
  • Technical Skills:

**Senior Director Data Management Services**
**Position Overview:**
In the Clinical Research & Development space, you will play a critical role in managing a team that ensures efficient and effective Data Ingestion & Transformation operations, all while adhering to compliance standards. You will collaborate with Bayer IT departments, DSAI sub-functions, and external IT partners to align clinical Business Capabilities with business needs. Your responsibilities include establishing a framework to define strategy and goals, ensuring the correct applications for successful data capture and flow in clinical trials, and overseeing digital capability enablement and operations. You will lead a cross-functional and global multimillion-dollar program to establish a capability platform for clinical data engineering and science. Emphasizing VACC behaviors, you will guide diverse cross-functional resources, ensuring customer needs are met.
**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Manage a team to ensure efficient Data Ingestion & Transformation operations while maintaining compliance standards;
+ Collaborate with Bayer IT departments, DSAI sub-functions, and external IT partners to align clinical Business Capabilities with business needs;
+ Establish a framework to define strategy and goals for data capture and flow in clinical trials;
+ Oversee digital capability enablement and operations for Data Acquisition and Transformation processes;
+ Deliver capability planning within the late-stage Focus Area, roadmap, and execution decisions based on business prioritization;
+ Plan project execution for assigned technologies, including budget and resource distribution;
+ Lead a cross-functional and global multimillion-dollar program to establish a capability platform for clinical data engineering and science;
+ Exhibit VACC behaviors, focusing on Architect and Coach roles, and guide cross-functional resources.
**WHO YOU ARE**
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
+ MSc in statistics, mathematics, informatics, computer sciences, or similar education;
+ Extensive experience in GxP/CSV & IT project or business process design;
+ Extensive experience in Data Science capability assessment and analysis;
+ Preferred project management experience;
+ Required Digital Life Cycle management experience with clinical trial-related systems;
+ Prefer experience in clinical trials, data management, electronic data capture, or statistical programming analysis;
+ Strong business and digital acumen, technical background, and knowledge of system validation, migration, and documentation principles;
+ Proven collaboration skills and ability to address and resolve conflicts;
+ Comprehensive experience managing and developing teams (direct or indirect);

This position is a pioneering leader in structured data intelligence, enterprise data architecture, data engineering strategy, and platform development initiatives. This includes building and scaling the Enterprise Data Warehouse, identifying and integrating authoritative third-party data sources, and creating a centralized data hub for provider and member data. The position will play a key leadership role in establishing a modern, secure, and high-performance data environment that supports advanced analytics, data governance, and strategic business initiatives.

This Director partners with each Application tower (Merch, Supply Chain, Store POS, Enterprise & BackOffice) leadership team to define and prioritize its multi-year technology roadmap. The Director also manages a team of Delivery Managers, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Systems Analysts and Developers who plan and execute the roadmap projects, in partnership with other internal and external resources, on time, on scope and within budget.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Primary responsibilities listed in order of importance


Enterprise Data Architecture & Engineering:

  • Design and implement a scalable, cloud-native enterprise data architecture
  • Lead the development of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, enabling seamless data access.
  • Establish robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to support batch and real-time data ingestion and transformation.
  • Identify and integrate authoritative third-party data sources to enrich enterprise data assets and improve decision-making.
  • Define and implement architecture standards, best practices, and development frameworks for data engineering.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting across pipelines and data environments
  • Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and recovery strategies for data platforms.


Data Integration & Interoperability:

  • Oversee integration of internal and external data sources (including APIs, flat files, and third-party feeds).
  • Ensure data engineering practices support data lineage, provenance, and traceability.
  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors to optimize data acquisition and utilization strategies


Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Work closely with senior leadership, business units, and IT teams to ensure that data initiatives align with strategic objectives.
  • Act as a thought leader on data management best practices, advising internal and external stakeholders on data-related opportunities and challenges.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing data governance, data quality, and data engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
  • Partner with external vendors and technology providers to optimize data tools and infrastructure.
  • Oversee operational performance and reliability of the enterprise data platform in collaboration with Infrastructure and InfoSec teams.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of data engineers, solution architects, and platform developers.
  • Collaboration with data governance, analytics, and IT operations teams.


Occasionally serve as primary project lead on strategic initiatives

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications - Summary of knowledge, experience and education required.
