As Associate Director, Innovation, you will partner with leaders across AbbVie to optimize the value of our portfolio of current and future assets. The role is seeking a high performing individual who has demonstrated an interest and expertise in the biopharma industry and strong desire to advance our strategic agenda and support mission-critical initiatives that will make a difference for AbbVies patients. In return the innovation group will provide high profile, high impact projects and professional development experiences spanning the entire drug development and commercialization value chain.
Location & Travel:

- Bachelors or equivalent degree required. Advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD, MBA) highly preferred.

Job Summary
The Director of Business Innovation and Development is a critical position that provides current and long-range industry assessment and analysis which will help shape the future of Summit Pacific. This position will help develop new service line assessments and feasibility, explore business and funding diversification, develop an organization-wide data and analytics program, and work alongside department leaders to develop and operationalize new initiatives. The Director of Business Innovation and Development will have oversite of the Population Health Program in a dyad partnership with the programs Senior Medical Director, and is also responsible for payor strategy and contracting.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- In partnership with Population Health Senior Medical Director, oversee Population Health Department and key initiatives to achieve strategic and operational priorities.
- Utilize the Community Health Needs Assessment, and other forms of health assessments, to develop a Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) model to improve population health.
- Interface with contracted payors to secure contracts that advance the mission and vision of Summit Pacific Medical Center.
- Interface with operational leaders to implement new service lines and optimize as measured by key performance indicators and department budgets.
- Evaluate current data systems and organizational data analytic needs to develop and implement a framework for data governance and key performance indicators.
- Create plans for future business development and market expansion that include provider demand analysis, feasibilities, and assessments of service line growth.
- Partner with The Rural Collaborative to develop and implement strategic initiatives around healthcare payment redesign.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed above, all employees are expected to support the Summit Pacific Medical Center mission, vision and values; comply with SPMC policies and procedures; and conduct themselves in an ethical, professional, respectful, and collaborative manner at all times.
Required Education And Experience

- Represent the voice of the consumer and ensure cultural relevance at all stages of product development.
- Continuously refine innovation practices based on outcomes and lessons learned and ensuring alignment with brand strategy, customer insights, and market differentiation.
- Spearhead partnerships with internal teams, including marketing, merchandising, supply chain, and legal, to streamline go-to-market strategies and compliance requirements.
- Lead opportunity mapping and category trend analysis to identify high-potential innovation spaces.
- Analyze consumer behavior, category trends, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for innovation within the Direct portfolio.
- Stay on the cutting edge of beverage trends, emerging formats, ingredients, sustainability, and technology.
- Partner with the sourcing team to develop and execute strategies that address identified gaps through innovative product development.

You will come with

You'll evaluate fit, impact, and feasibility, influence build vs. buy decisions, and lead early testing with Product, Engineering, and Marketing. Strong AI fluency, data literacy, and comfort with LLMs or No-Code tools is needed.
What Youll Be Doing
- Own an innovation pipeline sourced from internal insights, partner bets, and market signals while prioritizing by impact, effort, and strategic fit
- Size new opportunities (brand fit, TAM, customer value, P&L impact) and drive go / no-go calls
- Shape early concepts with user journeys, tech feasibility, legal / compliance guardrails, GTM angles
- Lead build-vs-buy decisions; steward resources toward the highest-value experiments
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to run rapid tests (positioning, channel mix, sales assets).
- Define success metrics; review results fast, then double-down, pivot, or stop
- Keep leadership and peers aligned through crisp updates and clear asks
- 5+ years each in product management, business development, and innovation / startup roles
- Fluency in AI: No-Code tools, prompt engineering and LLMs, understand ML, NLP, computer vision
- Strong data chopsable to pull, analyse, and turn signals into decisions
- Ability to thrives in fast, iterative 01 zones; bias for action and clear communication

Greenlight provides a competitive compensation package with a market-based approach to pay and will vary depending on your location, experience and skill set. The total compensation package for this position will also include a discretionary performance bonus, equity rewards, medical benefits, 401K match, and more. Greenlight conducts continuous compensation evaluations across departments and geographies to ensure we are keeping our pay current and competitive.

Develop and manage relationships with key technology partners. Ensure on-time delivery of new products and required enhancements of existing products in the specific product line.

Partner closely with Sales and Segment Marketing to establish go-to-market strategies.
