As Associate Director, Innovation, you will partner with leaders across AbbVie to optimize the value of our portfolio of current and future assets. Responsibilities:
  • Drive end-to-end strategic innovation and execution on an AbbVie Enterprise Critical asset in partnership with the program-leading Asset Strategy Team and content-focused deliverable teams. Areas of focus include strategic planning, scenario evaluation, and data-driven problem solving spanning the breadth of drug development (e.g. product development & manufacturing, trial design, evidence package evaluation, clinical acceleration, commercial presentation).

Qualifications
  • Bachelors or equivalent degree required. Advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD, MBA) highly preferred.
  • Minimum years of experience required: 6+ with Bachelors, 4+ with Masters, and 2+ with Doctorate.
  • Professional consulting experience highly preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills. Can comfortably lead meetings with mid/senior-level management.
  • Experience managing large projects within a complex matrixed pharmaceutical organization, either as an external consultant or an internal cross-functional lead.

Job Summary

The Director of Business Innovation and Development is a critical position that provides current and long-range industry assessment and analysis which will help shape the future of Summit Pacific. This position will help develop new service line assessments and feasibility, explore business and funding diversification, develop an organization-wide data and analytics program, and work alongside department leaders to develop and operationalize new initiatives. The Director of Business Innovation and Development will have oversite of the Population Health Program in a dyad partnership with the programs Senior Medical Director, and is also responsible for payor strategy and contracting.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • In partnership with Population Health Senior Medical Director, oversee Population Health Department and key initiatives to achieve strategic and operational priorities.
  • Utilize the Community Health Needs Assessment, and other forms of health assessments, to develop a Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) model to improve population health.
  • Interface with contracted payors to secure contracts that advance the mission and vision of Summit Pacific Medical Center.
  • Interface with operational leaders to implement new service lines and optimize as measured by key performance indicators and department budgets.
  • Evaluate current data systems and organizational data analytic needs to develop and implement a framework for data governance and key performance indicators.
  • Create plans for future business development and market expansion that include provider demand analysis, feasibilities, and assessments of service line growth.
  • Partner with The Rural Collaborative to develop and implement strategic initiatives around healthcare payment redesign.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed above, all employees are expected to support the Summit Pacific Medical Center mission, vision and values; comply with SPMC policies and procedures; and conduct themselves in an ethical, professional, respectful, and collaborative manner at all times.

Required Education And Experience

  • Bachelors and Masters Degrees required, or equivalent healthcare leadership
  • 7 plus years of experience in healthcare
  • 5 plus years Manager or Director level leadership experience
  • Extensive experience with Payor Contracting, Value Based Contracting, ACOs, CINs, Population Health, Advocacy, Data analytics, Business Development.

About The Role

Total Wine & More is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Innovation & Brand Development to support the growth and execution of our Direct portfolio strategy. This role will identify white space opportunities, drive consumer-centric innovation, and bring transformative ideas to market that fuel growth and relevance. This is a highly visible and collaborative leadership role that requires a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and operational rigor. This role will focus on the tactical execution and operational management of brand-building initiatives, product development, and portfolio optimization to enhance our proprietary offerings.

You will

Brand & Product Development Execution

  • Partner with Supplier & Category Management, Marketing, Insights, Supply Chain, and Operations to bring new products ideas from concept through launch.
  • Align with merchants and category managers to support the brand architecture and ensure consistency in positioning and messaging across the portfolio.
  • Translate consumer, customer, and market insights into differentiated product concepts.
  • Build strong business cases for new initiatives, including volume projections, pricing strategy, and investment needs in partnership with the category management team.
  • Represent the voice of the consumer and ensure cultural relevance at all stages of product development.
  • Continuously refine innovation practices based on outcomes and lessons learned and ensuring alignment with brand strategy, customer insights, and market differentiation.
  • Spearhead partnerships with internal teams, including marketing, merchandising, supply chain, and legal, to streamline go-to-market strategies and compliance requirements.

Market & Consumer Insights

  • Lead opportunity mapping and category trend analysis to identify high-potential innovation spaces.
  • Analyze consumer behavior, category trends, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for innovation within the Direct portfolio.
  • Stay on the cutting edge of beverage trends, emerging formats, ingredients, sustainability, and technology.
  • Partner with the sourcing team to develop and execute strategies that address identified gaps through innovative product development.
  • Translate insights into actionable brand growth initiatives, using data to inform decisions and drive portfolio expansion.

Stay informed on regulatory developments and evolving industry standards to ensure compliance with new product launches.

You will come with

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in brand development or product innovation within the Wine & Spirits industry or consumer goods sector.
  • Strong track record of executing product launches and managing brand portfolios in a competitive marketplace.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, and merchandising teams.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple product development timelines.

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $207,700 - $253,900 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
