Reporting to the Executive Director of the BILH Operations Transformation Team (OTT), the Director is responsible for driving perioperative operational excellence (OE) across the health system. In this role, the Director will provide consultative and advisory services to BILH's system and hospital leaders, including by leading efforts to define best practice, measure performance, and drive sustainable operational improvements in the perioperative environment. Initiatives will focus on such goals as increasing OR throughput and access, reducing supply costs, and improving provider, staff, and patient satisfaction. The Director serves as a subject matter expert in perioperative OE and is responsible for collaborating with system and hospital leadership to define the vision and strategic approach for perioperative optimization.
The Director will play a leadership role across system and hospital perioperative committees and will manage a portfolio of perioperative OE initiatives. The Director will directly manage several project management team members who will support this work, including through facilitation of cross-functional teams. Partnering with local clinical and operations leaders, the Director and OTT team will identify opportunities for improvement and develop comprehensive implementation and performance measurement plans. Under the Director's oversight, the OTT team will provide analytic support to inform decision making, develop tools and metrics for tracking performance, and create materials and processes to enable effective communication, change management, and best practice sharing across entities.
This role is a remote-hybrid position, which the Director is expected to be on-site at least 2 days per week at BILH hospitals for rounding and meeting participation.
**Job Description:**
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities** including but not limited to:
1. Collaborates with system and hospital leadership to develop a BILH-wide vision for operational excellence in the perioperative environment. Partners with clinical and administrative leaders to articulate best practice and develop standard tools, including playbooks and performance dashboards.
2. Partners with system and hospital leaders to identify goals and initiatives in support of this vision. Creates and facilitates a data-driven process to determine allocation of OTT resources in support of these initiatives.
3. Participates in and helps lead system and local perioperative committees. Rounds in the perioperative environment across BILH hospitals. Develops a deep understanding of the BILH perioperative environment and serves as a subject matter expert on perioperative best practice.
4. Leads the implementation of perioperative OE initiatives that require broad organizational support, local hospital engagement, and input from multiple stakeholders. Partners with system and hospital physician, nursing, and administrative leadership to drive sustainable results.
5. Effectively manages initiatives to meet goals within established guidelines and timeframes. Manages scope, using project management / performance improvement best practices, and anticipates opportunities and risks proactively to ensure the OTT and cross-functional teams are meeting key milestones and deliverables.
6. Oversees quantitative analyses to support the identification, implementation and monitoring of perioperative OE initiatives. Partners with Finance and IT on efforts to automate reporting as much as possible and to ensure the reliability and quality of data.
7. Serves as the day-to-day point of contact for perioperative OE efforts for system and hospital leaders, keeping leaders apprised of progress, escalating any risks or concerns. Builds and maintains strong working relationships with colleagues across BILH, including system, hospital, and perioperative leaders.
8. Oversees the work of the OTT's Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Analysts on perioperative projects, including project management and performance evaluation efforts.
9. Serves as manager to several OTT direct reports which may include Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Analysts.
**Minimum Qualifications**

The salary range for this role is
$126,500.00 - $199,100.00

- Lead initiatives focused on process flow, resource utilization, and capacity planning (people, space, equipment).
- Develop and manage warehouse productivity KPIs.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Customer Service, LVA, ) to ensure operational alignment with customer demand and SAP enhancements.
- Develop business cases for operational initiatives.
- Validate post-project productivity and cost savings.
- Support performance management, talent pipeline development, and intern/SCALE programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or a technical field (or 10+ years of related experience).
- 5+ years of people leadership experience , preferably in operations or pharma distribution.
- Strong knowledge of cGMPs , problem-solving, communication, and influencing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI) and SAP .
- Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis, CAPA , and Continuous Improvement .
- Business case creation and financial analysis capability.
- Off-hours decision-making support required (company-issued cell phone provided).
- Occasional travel to Enfield, CT (5-15%) .

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$122,250 - $179,300
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
