**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The role of the Director of Physician Services (DPS) II is a strategic leader who oversees and takes ownership of a clinical operations market with 51 or more providers. The DPS II provides support to hospital facilities operations management related to physicians, including primary care, specialists, and subspecialists who practice in hospital and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include oversight of the operations, budget, and general management of a portfolio of practices within a defined geographic area or specialty. This individual will have strategic, ongoing communications and interactions with the relevant hospital division from both a strategic and tactical standpoint. Building effective partnerships with hospital and operations team members is integral to success in this role.
**What you will do in this role:**
+ You will demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to delivering exceptional care to create an unmatched value proposition for our patients
+ You will identify opportunities for improvement and innovation, removes barriers and resistance, and enable desirable behavior
+ You will collaborate effectively with Division service line leaders and hospital business development leaders

This leadership position oversees the delivery of evidence-based practice by professional nursing personnel in designated areas of responsibility. The successful candidate will plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the unit's delivery of evidence-based patient care in a cost-effective manner, providing leadership and clinical management to members of the healthcare team.
Responsibilities and Duties:
**Patient Care (50%):**
- Assists in ensuring the application of the nursing process by Registered Nurses in the clinical setting (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation); assures documentation of patient care in the medical record. Addresses concerns and resolves problems.
- Assists in planning, assessing, implementing, and evaluating patient care as appropriate to department/unit.
- Assists in planning, reviewing, and coordinating staffing time schedules and allocating staff as appropriate for volume and patient care needs. Assists in daily staffing plans.
- Coordinates nursing care with other health care disciplines across the continuum of healthcare.
**Operations and Personnel Management (25%):**
- Maintains daily unit operations including the status of staffing, patient visits and/or admissions, discharges, and transfers, serving as a resource to department/unit staff to guide patient care delivery.
- Participates in recruitment, selection, retention, and evaluation of personnel. Participates in staff performance via written performance appraisals and disciplinary procedures. Ensures appropriate orientation, training, competence, continuing education, and professional growth and development of personnel. Maintains staff records.
- Assists in planning and contributing to fiscal management of unit by utilizing human and material resources and supplies in an efficient, cost-effective manner. Assists in development and implementation of services.

You'll actively serve as a physician advisor yourself while coaching team members and driving accountability for results. This hybrid leadership position requires significant on-site presence during the initial 12-18 months to establish physician leadership, rebuild program foundations, and model clinical excellence, with flexibility to transition to a more balanced hybrid schedule as the program stabilizes and leadership systems are fully established.
In this role, you'll:
