The Director of Product Development Strategy will lead and coordinate activities related to portfolio strategy, product development alignment, and strategic decision-making to drive Novocure's future growth. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Lead cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Regulatory, Clinical, Medical, and Commercial teams to align on product development and commercialization strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:

* Bachelor's degree in engineering, life sciences, or a related field (MBA or advanced scientific degree preferred).

Purpose of the Position

This position oversees the development of new products, commercialization & innovation activities of the Company, part of the core leadership team. Essential Position Responsibilities - This is a Salary Exempt position.

Portfolio Management. Optimize & maintain a balance of projects which meet short and long term needs to support strategic business objectives, considering the limitations imposed by available resources. Develop and implement a technology and portfolio strategy to align with the business strategy. Ensure balance of new & replacement projects as well as internal (supply chain) and external customer needs. Participate and often lead the R&D deep dive meetings and Product Review as part of the S&OP process to ensure balance is maintained to the extent possible. Identify technical knowledge gaps and ensure plans are in place to close them. Maintain a robust innovation funnel to change over time from a customer pull to push activity by developing prototypes for review.

Project Management. Supports and ensures that the NPD process is being followed by Simmons team members and that roles and responsibilities of customer staff members and Simmons employees are clearly defined. Monitors project performance with respect to timing and cost parameters which are agreed upon at the project initiation. Enact containment and/or countermeasures to react quickly to milestone non conformances to meet ultimate project objectives. Suspend or Cancel projects as necessary to reduce non productive activities. Compiles after-market review including analytical results and consumer comments as well as product marketplace performance to evaluate project success. Enforce problem solving including countermeasures in subsequent projects to encourage continuous improvement and quality by design.

Technical Leadership. Directly responsible for research, development and evaluation of products, including nutritional, sensory and shelf life studies, gathering data, analysis, and compilation of reports and recommendations. Develop a creative innovation platform that leverages market data and observations as well as the capabilities of the larger cross-functional group to improve the quality of projects at the start of the development funnel. Participate in the evaluation of new equipment which may provide the Company with product differentiation or which is required to produce new physical targets in the marketplace. Develop and maintain a portfolio of prototypes/photographs and presentations which demonstrate the range of Company capabilities with respect to processing/physical appearance. Stays abreast of technological advances in the meat, food, and pet food industries.

**Summary:**

The Product Development team's purpose is to lead the innovation and productivity agendas to grow KDP brands, transform beyond its core, and improve the profitability of our products. This Leadership role within R&D will lead the Innovation agenda to design and develop products across the Carbonated Soft Drinks (CSD) Portfolio and Food Service. The incumbent will be a strategic thinker, natural collaborator, influencer, and lead the development and commercialization of our key brands. This role positions Keurig Dr Pepper to delight our consumers and customers through a variety of our brands and channels.
The role will work closely with Marketing, Commercial, R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance leaders. The leader should have strong interpersonal skills to build key cross functional partnerships and relationships to foster a team environment aligned to the overall KDP values and culture.
The role will report to VP, Cold Product Development.
**Key Responsibilities** :
+ Partner with Marketing to build the Innovation strategy across our CSD portfolio and Food Service channels by influencing stakeholders and peers on the strategic vision and road map
+ Leads the Product strategy, planning, influencing, and commercialization of the Food Service agenda with the Commercial and Marketing team
+ Implements the CSD R&D strategy, goals, and business plans to drive growth while appropriately allocating resources to balance immediate and long-term objectives
+ Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, and Supply Chain on the CSD Innovation and Food Service pipeline across the KDP portfolio
+ Partners actively with R&D leaders in the progression of Design-to-Value, Product Design, New Technologies, Supplier partnerships, and external innovation to build out a robust multi-year pipeline
+ Manages team of Scientists, where role is empowered to make decisions & recommendations on productivity ideas and development while influencing key stakeholders and Brand owners on the purpose, functionality & role of the product
+ Provides technical leadership in the development and optimization of products from bench to pilot scale up, and through full commercialization for the US and Canadian market
+ Proactively influences and co-leads Innovation workshops, planning, and the technical and financial assessment of ideas with cross-functional partners
+ Develops and communicates key business updates to stakeholders and senior leadership
+ Ability to create and lead processes to drive efficiency, resolve complexity, and prioritize high performance team behavior
+ Inspires, motivates, and develops talent maintaining a forward thinking, agile, and people focused environment
+ Manages and aligns the overall CSD and Food Service R&D budget and planning
**Requirements:**
+ Minimum bachelor's degree, graduate degree is a plus. (Food Science or Engineering preferred).
+ 12+ years of experience with a food/beverage company is highly desirable
+ 5+ years' experience managing, leading, and developing direct reports
+ Additional experience with hot fill, cold fill, retort, and aseptic processes is a plus.
+ Proficient in consumer design and value creation is a plus.
+ Extremely strong skills in business acumen, financial analysis, influencing, leading cross-functional teams
+ Must have excellent presentation and communication skills
+ Demonstrated consumer empathy for developing consumer centric propositions

Overview

The Hard Rock International Director of Merchandising and Product Development is responsible for leading a merchandise team to drive the development, execution and communication of a product strategy that exceeds financial plans, guest satisfaction goals and brand objectives. The Director of Merchandising and Product Development takes all aspects of manufacturing into consideration when designing new merchandise, including the technical processes, fabrics and trims, and logistics, to design new products that meet the quality and cost specifications that the company sets forth.

Responsibilities

Product Development and Assortment Strategy - 80%

* Develop and present the product line to meet financial strategies, maximize assortment incorporating Brand objectives.
* Source and negotiate business with vendors/licensees worldwide; oversee all aspects of product development, costing and production.
* Assess the competition with respect to financial condition, trends, merchandising and product strategy; react accordingly to ensure market leadership.
* Review sales, receipt flow, inventory and margin projections for Open-to-Buy to maximize sales and minimize risks.
* Ensure the financial success of multiple departments by meeting or exceeding sales, GM, and productivity goals.
* Develop and establish annual and seasonal assortment plans.
* Serve as Team Leader of cross functional teams including design, brand, legal and operations.
