Job Description
We're looking for an IT Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our disaster recovery plans and backup solutions across multiple networks. This role is crucial for ensuring the continuity of our IT operations in the event of a disaster. The specialist will focus on the technical aspects of disaster recovery planning (DRP), including system backups, recovery testing, and restoration procedures. This role will also act as an IT Asset Manager, which will act as a liaison between IT, Vendors, Finance, Procurement, and Engineering teams to ensure departmental Hardware & Software assets are properly purchased, tracked, and utilized within the department.
Key Responsibilities
- DRP Development & Maintenance : Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans for critical business applications and IT infrastructure. This includes creating recovery time objectives (RTOs) and maintaining/documenting recovery point objectives (RPOs).
- Backup and Recovery Management : Oversee the daily backup operations for all IT systems, including servers, databases, and critical data. Ensure backups are successful, secure, and easily restorable.
- Testing and Validation : Plan and execute regular disaster recovery tests and exercises. Document test results and identify areas for improvement in our recovery plans.
- Incident Response : Lead in the incident response team during an actual disaster or outage. This includes coordinating recovery efforts, executing recovery plans, and communicating progress to stakeholders.
- Technical Expertise : Maintain a deep understanding of backup technologies (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Netbackup, Rubrik, etc), storage solutions, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Documentation & Reporting : Create and update all documentation related to disaster recovery and backup procedures. Prepare reports on the status of backup jobs, recovery tests, and overall system resilience.
- Collaboration : Partner with IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business unit leaders to ensure that disaster recovery plans are aligned with business needs and compliance requirements
- IT Asset Management : Acts as the main liaison between IT, Vendors, Finance, Procurement, and Engineering teams to ensure departmental Hardware & Software assets are properly purchased, tracked, and utilized within the department.
- IT System Administration Tasks: Handle day to day miscellaneous system administration tasks that might be required
- Proven expertise in managing and troubleshooting enterprise-level backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity)
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers (Windows, Linux), virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and storage area networks (SANs)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to make recommendations to purchase hardware, software, and system components.
- Ability to Interact, meet, discuss, and troubleshoot issues with vendors; evaluate vendor products, services, and suggestions.
- Ability to learn and architect new technologies into existing infrastructure as they are introduced

Target Base Salary Range: $63,800 - $127,600 USD

OVERVIEW:
The Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Analyst is a key player in keeping the Firm prepared. This role works closely with department heads across the Firm to conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and update Business Continuity Plans to identify critical processes and dependencies, and recommend strategies to keep operations running smoothly. The Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Analyst also coordinates BC/DR projects, conducts training and awareness programs, and supports crisis communication planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Continuity:

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Project Management, Business Continuity and Crisis Communications certifications a plus;
- Ideally 3-5 years of related professional experience with at least 1-3 years in a Business Continuity or related area;

- Lead the development and execution of crisis management protocols and procedures, ensuring a timely and effective response to any business interruption or emergency event.
- Coordinate crisis management teams across multiple sites and departments to ensure alignment and a cohesive response during emergencies.
- Facilitate crisis simulation exercises and tabletop drills to test response readiness and identify areas for improvement.
