Title: Inventory Control Coordinator (2nd Shift)

Location: Chicago, IL

Starting Salary Range: $26/hour (Full-Time, Direct Hire)

2nd shift: Monday–Friday, approximately 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM CT

Includes overtime opportunities and occasional Saturday shifts as needed


Introduction

We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Inventory Control Coordinator – 2nd Shift to join our team at our Chicago facility. If you have 1–3 years of inventory control or operations experience in a fast-paced manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment — this is your chance to be part of a company that values accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will be a key player in maintaining accurate inventory, resolving variances, and supporting production efficiency. You'll use SAP and other tools to ensure everything flows smoothly from stock to shop floor.


Required Skills & Qualifications

Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered:

• 1–3 years of experience in inventory control, supply chain, or operations

• Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environments

• Proficient with SAP or similar ERP and inventory management systems

• Proven track record in inventory tracking, data analysis, and variance resolution

• Ability to work 2nd shift: Monday–Friday, approximately 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM CT

• Open to working Saturdays and overtime as business needs require

**JOB SUMMARY**
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for supporting DC Operations from a systems perspective by maintaining item balance and transactional integrity between PeopleSoft and High Jump. This position works as part of a team to support DC Operations by understanding the interactions of the Company's computer systems as related to the physical activities of the business. Position involves reconciling item balances on a daily basis along with transactional analysis, various levels of transaction processing, shipment discrepancy investigation and resolution.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Reconcile PeopleSoft and High Jump balances on a daily basis by utilizing various reports (i.e., Inventory Reconciliation Report). Investigate and resolve BCT Errors by analyzing transaction flow in both systems, understanding the impact on the item balances and timing issues and transaction process. This function is intertwined with several audit functions between PS/HJ on a daily basis
+ Support the On-Line Database by understanding each request for a return of merchandise or report of a shipment discrepancy
+ Analyze requests, determine resolution requirements and processing accordingly
+ Investigate, analyze and resolve various requests involving transaction discrepancies as reported and/or requested by DC Operations, Customer Service, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, etc
+ Analyze Proof of Delivery and determine whether a freight claim can be filed against the Carrier based on its legal requirements. File freight claims through 3rd party software packages where applicable
+ Warehouse Supply Management - monitor usage, process transactions to consume usage of inventory supply items and transfer to replenish DC inventory, if necessary
+ Process various transactions on a daily basis to support the basic business functions including priority sales orders and sample requests
+ Electronic filing of required company records including scanning, checking, naming, archiving documents
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
**Experience**
1-2 yrs. experience working in an Office or Distribution Center (DC), including working knowledge of DC activities including receiving, shipping, cycle counting and all activities relating to inventory.
**Skills**
+ Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and professional interactive skills are necessary to perform at a high degree of proficiency. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, distributors, management and inter-department staff. Capable of working with internal staff from other departments in a proactive and constructive manner.

**Role Summary:**
The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for inventory-related functions; this includes generating purchase requestions and cycle counts, following up on delivery of parts, scheduling orders to meet customer request dates, and leading the morning accountability meetings. + Communicate on the status of orders and assist in tracking shipments until delivery is completed. Ensure changes in order status are communicated in a timely manner and assist in trouble-shooting order issues to maintain on-time delivery.
+ Closely monitor PO due dates and expedite the status of PO deliveries.
+ Maintain and replenish stocks for consumables.
+ Work independently, manage time effectively, and be well organized to handle a high-volume workload.
+ Majority of the workload is ordering parts from other internal facilities and outside vendors and creating production orders for parts to be manufactured.
**Requirements:**
+ HS Diploma/GED
+ 1-3+ years of planning and scheduling experience in Manufacturing
+ Proficient with MS Office Tools, specifically Excel
+ Capable of working overtime on short notice

**About the Role**
Responsible for the processing, monitoring, analyzing reporting and accuracy of all Canon Solutions America owned inventory including 3rd party. Creates, administers, analyzes and reports on all cycle counts and physical inventories in accordance with established guidelines. Manages adjustments and scraps according to guidelines established by Finance. Resolves all errors on inventory transactions. Maintains system accuracy for all inventory including 3rd party. Monitors, resolves and reports on all slow moving and obsolete inventory. Works independently with minimal supervision. Communicates with management and all internal and external auditors; pass all process audits.
**Your Impact**
Responsible for developing and implementing spare parts delivery models and coordinating the ongoing spare parts fulfillment analysis and parts forecasting. Acts as a liaison with Canon, Inc. Provides ongoing analysis of the Consumer Service parts procurement, back-order and delivery processes, and assist the supervisor with identifying, implementing and measuring ongoing improvements to these processes. Strategically plans inventory levels to meet budgeted targets, while optimizing parts turnover and overall customer satisfaction with all Consumer Service Repair activities. Under limited supervision, the candidate is expected to meet requirements of stocking repair centers, subcontractors, Americas- companies, refurbishment providers and authorized dealers with appropriate warranty, spare and RFD parts in support of established refurbishing strategies, repair turn around and customer satisfaction targets. Analyze and take action to address all Consumer Product repair parts order conflicts, back-orders, stock depletions and related activities required to sustain parts inventory availability and meet turn over targets. Monitor, analyze, act on and maintain refurbished product parts availability in conjunction with Marketing, Canon Inc., and all vendor activities to sustain adequate availability of required parts inventories for refurbishment activities until end of refurbish life is achieved. Develops, delivers and improves on all reporting activities as relates to parts planning, parts procurement and analysis. Support budget requirements in relation to parts planning and procurement as well as the semi-annual write down and write off processes as required by Canon. Researches, plans and evaluates the effectiveness of processes, systems, procedures or methodologies through review and evaluation of detailed data. A developing professional, working towards full proficiency in the job role. Receives general instruction from manager on expected work outcomes and exercises good judgment in day-to-day matters. Typically reports to a Manager or Senior Manager, but may report to a senior professional individual contributor when business needs dictate.
