**Position Summary:** Guarantee 100% delivery reliability to the customer on basis of low stocks, supplier's reliability, and logistics cost reduction. Develop, manage, and enhance logistics concepts as well as processes and optimize logistics performance.

+ Be first contact to the customer on logistics topics for local customer inquiries and coordinate with the customer on delivery schedules and transportation of product to customer.
+ Detect root cause of eventual supplier shortages and report lessons learnt to management team.

As the Manager you are responsible for managing the Spartanburg Manufacturing Production Planning and Procurement teams. This position is responsible for interfacing with Corporate Supply Chain to ensure production plans are translated into facility schedules, that the materials used in the schedules are purchased at competitive price and are available to meet department's established weekly committed outputs.

+ Supervise and develop a team of up to 10 individuals with varying responsibilities within the site Planning and Procurement team.
+ Build a high performing team through strength and opportunity analysis resulting in individual performance plans.
+ Develop a safety and quality focus among direct reports.

+ Build a collaborative relationship between the buying/scheduling team and all other departments at the site, other production sites and multi-site teams.

+ Responsibility to report food safety, quality and regulatory compliance to plant or division personnel with authority to initiate action.

The Manager Supply Chain is responsible for managing all areas of Materials Department including the receiving, scheduling warehousing, and shipping activities.
Essential functions of the job:
- Assume primary role in developing departmental systems, procedures and policies involving purchasing, production and material control. Interface with Quality Department to stay in process for all systems.
- Oversee production schedules, including material procurement and manufacturing schedules. Monitor reports and communicate with staff to ensure sufficient materials are available to production and ensure inbound raw materials and outbound shipping schedules are maintained.
- Develop supplier relationships to ensure a continuing source vendor. Workwith Corporate Purchasing as a resource for supplier information and meet locally with supplier representatives.

- Take necessary actionsto eliminate delays to ensure adherence to production and shipping schedules. Create workflow changes as necessary on an on-going basis for prevention plan for timing issues. Communicate all changesto staff members to ensure engagement and comprehension.
- Directs the usage of material to produce the product taking into consideration numerous variables. Assesses and anticipates material trends and usage based on initial information for new and on-going programs.
- Develops systems and programs to insure effectiveness of the department within quality guidelines and formats.
- Participates in annual budget forecasts.Reports costs for material and labor within Material Group to Plant Manager as necessary.
- Oversees prompt shipment schedules to ensure customer requirements are met usingresources/tools available, developing assessments and metrics for on-going performance.
- Analyses future customer demand to identify manpower, tooling and equipment needs.
- Coordinates physical inventories and entry of same in accordance with established processes. Evaluate and report significant inventory variance, identify root cause and corrective action for inventory discrepancies.
- Responsible for promoting a safework environment and preventing injuries using 5S, job rotation, and ergonomic work practices. Safety auditing, tracking of audit closure, participating in incident reviews along with writing or assisting in the 8D process and aiding in corrective action closure. Communication of safety informationas necessary and participation in safety meetings and activities is also required.
- Bachelor's Level Degree Area of Study: Business Administration, Engineering, Science, or anothertechnical field.
- Equivalent work experience may also be considered forcertain positions.
Required qualifications:
- 7-10 Minimum Years of Experience within the field.
- 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
- Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
