As a Distribution Operations Intern you will play an active role in the operation of a fast paced multi-million-dollar distribution center. For 12 weeks during the summer, you will join our Distribution Operations team in one of our distribution centers across the US and receive an exceptional experience through a mix of on-the-job training, project management experience and ongoing mentorship from your leadership team. Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and analyze current-state processes inclusive of the tools used, data inputs and outputs, etc, to achieve significant cost savings.
  • Understand material planning and re-ordering process from key stakeholders including Procurement, Supply and Demand managers
  • Identify strengths and opportunities; lead cross-functional alignment sessions to present proposal for future-state for cost savings
  • Lead and participate in ad hoc projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university, working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain, Research, Business or a related discipline.

The Operations Supervisor provides direction at a single location, leading staff to ensure customer requirements are achieved while meeting our Penske goals and objectives.
**Position Summary:**
Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to ensure the execution of daily tasks and activities including driver deliveries, loading/unloading of trailers, and customer service operations in a manner consistent with company services and cost objectives. Supervises most processes directly including people, systems, customer needs, equipment, etc.workforce and equipment scheduling. Responsible for performance management of direct reports. making corrective action and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level. **Schedule** : Sunday - Wednesday 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Hours may vary depending on business needs)
**Salary** : $68,640 - 81,650 - Position is bonus eligible up to 12% of the base salary
**Major Responsibilities:**
People
- Establish and sustain that all supervisors and associates are trained and competent and understand how their work relates to the customers' business objectives
- Establish and sustain that performance standards are communicated that are specific and measurable
- Interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance standards and provide coaching and counseling to associates
- Motivate and engage associates by focusing on team accomplishments and recognition
Operations
- Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch and proper documentation and procedure control
- Conduct team meetings
- Evaluate and recommend changes in preferred work methods to increase productivity of dispatch operations. Assist in new associate training
- Provide relief coverage for operational duties when associates utilize time-off or are absent from the shift
- Have a thorough working knowledge of the site's operating systems in order to ensure operational compliance and correct exception resolution
- Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion
Finance
- Ensure compliance with financial policies & procedures such as tracking MPG, returns, damages, etc.
- Understand the relationship between decision-making and profitability
- Closely manage associates' working hours and activities to minimize overtime and to meet or exceed productivity targets
Safety
- Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are aligned with the location safety strategy
- Provide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance

**Position Summary**
The Distribution Center Operations Manager leads and oversees day-to-day operations within designated areas of the distribution center. This role is responsible for designing and implementing operational programs that drive efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver exceptional service to stores, customers, and patients. The Operations Manager will play a key role in achieving profit, expense, and performance targets, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and employee engagement.
**What you will do**
+ Develops tactical and operational plans to achieve the Distribution Center Operations area's goals, and communicates plans to managers, supervisors, and individual contributors.
+ Ensures team compliance with policies and procedures to achieve the organization's Distribution Center Operations goals and objectives.
+ Administers strategy to achieve performance expectations and financial metrics.
+ Coordinates deliverable timelines, accountability, and action steps for completion.
+ Advises with managers on recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
+ Allocates resources to ensure timely, secure, and accurate deliveries of products and services.
+ Analyzes areas of opportunities within the distribution center to identify best-in-class solutions.
+ Manages operational aspects of the team (e.g., budget, performance, and compliance), and implements workforce and succession plans to meet business needs.

**Required Qualifications**
**Minimum 5 years of progressive work experience in warehouse or distribution center operations**
**Minimum 5 years of experience directly managing large teams (50-100)**
**Experience in a retail distribution environment**
**Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)**
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bilingual - English/Spanish
+ Exposure to supply chain management and cross-dock operations
+ Background in employee mentorship, engagement, and development planning
+ Familiarity with LEAN principles or Six Sigma methodology
+ Continuous improvement/change management experience
+ Demonstrated agility and adaptability in dynamic operational settings
+ Adept at business intelligence and data-driven decision-making
+ Strong problem-solving skills and operational troubleshooting ability
+ Excellent time management and multitasking capabilities
+ Effective collaboration and communication across all levels of the organization
+ Experience meeting KPIs (e.g., cases per hour, on-time delivery, labor efficiency)
+ Proven leadership in high-volume, fast-paced environments
+ Proficient in planning, execution, and delivery of operational strategies

The typical pay range for this role is:
$66,330.00 - $145,860.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.

+ Track and check in drivers and trailers from receiving office or guard shack

+ Prepare data for computer entry by compiling, sorting, and verifying information
