This “back-of-house” position is where it all begins. You take our top secret Krispy Kreme ingredients and put them all together to create the best doughnuts in the world. It’s a big responsibility that demands accuracy, timing and a pride that every doughnut looks and tastes perfect.

Overview of Position: A Doughnut Maker is responsible for preparing all products, including doughnuts, fillings and icings needed for all shifts. These products must meet Krispy Kreme standards (Awesome Freakin’ Doughnuts) and exceed customer expectations. They demonstrate competency in a variety of store practices and procedures and adhere rigorously to store standards. A commitment to teamwork, a clean and professional appearance, enthusiasm, and a high energy level are necessary throughout the shift. One of the most visible jobs in our company, this job requires a clean-as-you-go working mindset and a pleasant disposition. You are the Star of the Doughnut. Theater!

Position Responsibilities:
• Produce doughnuts that meet Krispy Kreme standards by operating doughnut making equipment.
• Prepare all ingredients necessary for doughnut production—dough, glaze, fillings and icings using the correct formula.
• Complete a proper production schedule on a regular basis, always striving to minimize waste.
• Maintain a correct dough schedule to ensure product freshness.
• Inspect all doughnuts and remove any that are misshapen, too small, or otherwise imperfect.
• Stock and rotate racks and display cases to ensure freshness and proper appearance.
• Regularly clean and perform preventive maintenance on doughnut-making equipment.
• Demonstrate ability to convert weights and measurements using the United States metric system.
• Maintain a pleasant and courteous demeanor.
• Practice "Clean as you go" techniques to maintain a clean work area.
• Demonstrate safety consciousness at all times and report all incidents to a supervisor.
• Assist in maintaining a high level of store sanitation and cleanliness.
• Report any equipment failure or issues to supervisor in a timely manner.
• Consistently model all store policies, standards, and practices to ensure efficient processes are maintained and quality product is produced on your shift.
• Coach/train new employees in production.
• Company provides Uniform of 1-Cap, 1-Tee Shirt, and 1-Apron to an employee to be worn during shift. Employee must wear blue jeans (no holes, washout or ripped) and black belt. Non-Slip shoes must be worn at all times. Maintain a clean, neat Glazing Saddles issued uniform at all times.
• Follow all Krispy Kreme standards for Food Safety Program and HACCP Plans.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience:
• Pleasant disposition, friendly, sociable, accommodating nature, and enthusiastic
• Practice "Clean as you go" techniques to maintain a clean work area
• Ability to make simple mathematical calculations
• Must be able to read and communicate using the English language

Valued but not required skills and experience:
• Food Service experience
• Experience with basic equipment repair and maintenance
• Bakery/Cake Decorating experience

From the team behind INNESS, Lola Pizza, Ray’s Bar and Freemans, Little Goat is a new cafe, market and restaurant that  celebrates the beauty of farm-to-table dining in the Hudson Valley. We focus on vegetable-forward dishes, housemade pasta, local meats and freshly baked goods. We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented baking and pastry assistant to help bring this vision to life.

The Role:

  • You will be working closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to help execute pastry and bread production for the cafe and restaurant. This includes dough production (enriched doughs, breads, laminated doughs, etc), helping shape and fill pastries, baking breads including focaccias and other flatbreads, and pastry prep for dinner service. 
  • Communication with Executive Chef and Sous Chefs to complete daily tasks as required.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Maintaining sanitation standards.
  • AM availability required.

What We’re Looking For:

  • At least 1 Years of professional baking and pastry experience. 
  • Culinary Arts degree or advanced culinary arts certification is a plus but not required.
  • A love for farm-to-table cooking and an enthusiasm and willingness to learn about and prepare baked goods that incorporate seasonal fruits and produce as well as freshly milled NY state grains. 
  • Commitment to maintaining exceptional food quality and an impeccable kitchen environment.
  • Reliable; able to get to work on time and stay focused and efficient.

Baker Summary:

The baker is responsible for the execution of dishes at Postscript. The Baker ensures that dishes are prepared correctly and that daily bake off and production is executed in a timely, clean, and efficient manner. The Baker works closely with the Chef and Sous Chef and must be able to assume responsibility for all aspects of execution. Including but not limited to, prepping ingredients, baking products, stocking ingredients, accounting for deliveries, openings and closings.


Primary roles of the Baker:

  1. Kitchen Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the service of food adhering to Postscript standards of service and quality.
  • Ensure cleanliness of workstations.
  • Following procedures and proper hygiene to maintain high standards of food safety
  • Prepare a variety of baked goods and confections with an awareness of consistency of products
  • Follow formulas and instructions from recipes to maintain consistency, communicate with Chefs and team members.
  • Stay organized on daily prep projects and communicate with team members on what is needed.
  • Be flexible with production schedules.
  • Prevent the spoiling and cross contamination of foods by implementing proper sanitation practices while ensuring compliance with policy and health regulations.
  • Report any maintenance or repairs needed to the KM.
  • Follow departmental policies as well as restaurant rules and regulations set forth in the Employee Handbook and by management.
  • Understand that Postscript is not just a market; it is a delicious exploration for those who go here. What comes out of our kitchen, whether it be packaged or plated, should always amplify that experience.

  1. Facility Maintenance: 

The aesthetic and overall cleanliness and condition of the facility is an essential part of our customer experience.

  • Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of the entire kitchen, including and not limited to store room, refrigerators, trashroom, etc.
  • Ensure that the facility is both clean and in compliance with health department requirements.

Requirements:

  • Must have experience as a baker or pastry cook.
  • Minimum of 2+ years in a kitchen.
  • The job's physical demands include; standing, climbing ladders, reaching and lifting loads of up to 50 pounds, and being on your feet 8+ hours a day.



Compensation:
