Position Overview:
The Activity Sponsor is responsible for organizing, supervising, and promoting a student organization or club in alignment with the school district's mission, policies, and student development goals. The sponsor serves as a mentor, leader, and liaison between students, staff, and administration to ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging extracurricular experience.

•Promote student involvement by modeling positive interpersonal relationships and encouraging respectful interactions among students and between students and adults.
•Provide students with leadership and participation opportunities that foster engagement, teamwork, shared decision-making and responsibility.
•Support students' academic success by encouraging a healthy balance between academic responsibilities and extracurricular involvement, and by collaborating with teachers and staff as needed.
•Enforce academic eligibility in accordance with IHSA and district policy.
•Promote student self-esteem and personal growth through positive reinforcement and recognition of effort and achievement.
•Maintain open, timely, and professional communication with students, staff, administration, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders regarding club operations, expectations, and events.
•Clearly communicate expectations regarding attendance, behavior, eligibility, and participation, and consistently enforce them to maintain an orderly and productive environment.

•Attend scheduled school events and sponsor-related meetings, including but not limited to Sponsor Meetings, Activity Fairs, and Open House events.
•Represent the school and district with professionalism and integrity, serving as a positive role model for students.
•Manage the club's budget and financial records responsibly by adhering to district procedures for purchases, reimbursements, and fundraising activities.
•Submit all required documentation, reports, and compliance forms accurately and by established deadlines.
•Complete a year-end summary or report of activity goals/outcomes.
•Participate in annual post-activity evaluation by the Director of Athletics and Activities, Activities Facilitator, Building Principal or Designee
•Comply with all applicable federal and state laws including FERPA, Title IX, and Board policies related to discrimination, harassment prevention, and student confidentiality.
•Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.
This stipend position is a non-tenure, extra-duty assignment contingent upon sufficient student enrollment, program approval, and available funding. It is not subject to continued renewal and
may be discontinued at the district's discretion. This position is exempt from overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Stipends are not calculated based on hours worked and are considered payment for duties performed outside the regular instructional day. Subject to satisfactory criminal background clearance and drug screening as required by Illinois School Code and District policy. This is an at-will, extra-duty appointment and may be discontinued at the District's discretion.

Primary Description of Work
The Associate Dean of the UNCSA School of Drama will serve as the principal deputy to the Dean. They will be responsible for supporting the Dean in defining and implementing an overall vision for the school as a national leader for training actors and stage directors who are multi-hyphenated artists successfully working in a variety of entertainment outlets including live theater, film and television. The Associate Dean will support the ongoing work of curriculum revision to adapt and evolve to the rapidly changing environment of the entertainment industry. The Associate Dean must have sufficient knowledge of industry trends to enable stronger cohesion of curricular initiatives around preparing students for successful entry into the industry.

Description of Responsibilities and Duties
Strategic Leadership (50%)
* In collaboration with the dean, the associate dean will serve as a key point of contact to the Provost's Office to meet the administrative and strategic needs for the school. This includes responding in a timely fashion to programmatic updates, curricular matters, and other administrative requests related to the UNC System Office, Board of Governors and Board of Trustees.
* Actively participate in the annual recruitment process, working closely with the School of Drama's Director of Recruitment.
* Assist the dean as a liaison for Advancement, Strategic Communications and external programs.
* Assist the dean and support staff with planning and creating agenda for the annual faculty retreat and all key faculty meetings
* Serve as the line producer for the Patrons Performance Series
Curricular Planning and Student Engagement (20%)
* Assist the dean with addressing students of concern, probation and warning letters.
* Serve as the school's primary liaison with the Office of Student Affairs, working closely with the Wellness Center, Case Management, and Student Conduct to address academic and student concerns.
* In collaboration with the dean and faculty, oversee the coordination of guest artist visits including escorting, supervising and moderating guests while in town throughout the academic year.
* Oversee the orientation coordination, scheduling & materials, or creation & coordination of Classroom Demonstration Week & Intensive Arts schedule.
* Assist the dean with adaptations and changes to the curricular arc and planning for acting and directing students.

Prepare program budgets in accordance with ASM guidelines

+ Coordinates the scheduling and recruitment of stagehands, technical crew, and front-of-house personnel to ensure adequate event staffing and coverage
