Job Summary
Reports directly to the APS-3 KBR COSIS Training department lead. Responsible for the coordination of APS-3 KBR, OSHA, HSE, and USG contract required training. The master driver training instructor will monitor and provide classes regarding various training requirements for KBR personnel to assure compliance to regulatory and other requirements specified by KBR, OSHA, HSE, and USG requirements. The master driver training instructor arranges for a trainer, coordinates training dates, training location, training time, and targeted personnel. The master driver training instructor will also arrange for the required audio-visual resources needed to complete the training. The master driver training instructor will maintain the training records database including electronics and hard copy as needed or required. The master driver training instructor must be highly organized and be able to effectively communicate professionally to all levels of the organization. He/she also must have good skills regarding various computers training software including excellent word processing skills. A commercial driver's license A is required for this position to adequately train on various commercial/tactical vehicle combinations.
Roles and Responsibilities
+ Performs duties IAW documented policies, procedures, work instructions and verbal guidance from Site Support Department Supervisor.
+ Responsible for updating/maintaining training Standing Operating Procedures (SOP), reviews, drafts revisions and interim changes, processes proposed changes through Quality/Auditor Section to publishing on I-Drive.
+ Helps coordinate the various KBR APS-3 Employee Training activities, plans and schedules training events, coordinates for instructor and equipment support; internal training and training conducted by outside agencies such as colleges.
+ Assists instructors in preparation for training.
+ Aggressively performs training record management IAW Record Control Standard Operating Procedures; monitors medical and training expiration, schedules medical clearance or re-training in advance of expiration.
+ Coordinates plans and schedules for off-site and government sponsored Force Modern Equipment training.
+ Helps coordinate New Hire training event of all new employees, such as; Annual training requirements and establishes and maintains the training file in training data base.
+ Maintains Employee Training and Instructor Database, updates as training is completed, and posts to I: Drive.
+ Issues employee Record of Operator Training, IAW SOP.
+ Prepares Instructor Certification letters at the request of Functional Area Managers.
+ Maintains employee training files (hard copy), files training records.
+ Performs administrative functions of Equipment Training Program.

What truck drivers can expect during the CDL-A Flatbed Training Program:

  • On site training pay: 4,000
    • Week 1 = 1000
    • Week 2 = 1000
    • Week 3 = 1000
    • Week 4 = 1000 plus load pay
  • One Week of in-class orientation and hands on development
  • One week of local loading and deliveries with driver trainer
  • Load securement and tarp testing
  • Successful completion of a road test

  • Tarped lumber
  • Slinky coils
  • Building Materials
  • Palletized
After successfully completing the CDL-A Flatbed Training Program, CDL-A flatbed truck drivers enjoy:
  • .53 - .55 cpm based on tenure with previous employer or 27%
  • 70,000 - 75,000 per year!
  • Increased Weekly Minimum Pay: 30 days - 2 years = 1,200 and 2 years+ = 1,300
    • NOW Eligible after 30 days at Montgomery!
    • Must meet applicable requirements

CDL-A Flatbed Truck Driver Benefits:
  • Health insurance benefits are offered through BlueCross BlueShield
  • Vision and Dental benefits are offered through MetLife
  • Short-term disability benefits are offered through Mutual of Omaha.
    • Medical benefits (health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and short-term disability) are effective the 1st of the month, following the first 30 days of employment
  • 401(k) benefits are offered through Empower Retirement and enrollment is available at the time of hire. Once enrolled, the 401(k) will start on the first of the month after enrollment
  • Company paid life insurance of 20,000 is provided
CDL-A Flatbed Training Program truck driver requirements:
  • A certification of completion from an accredited CDL Training School, as well as a certification of completion of over the road training
  • No chargeable DOT accidents in the previous 3 years
  • No more than 1 moving violation in the previous 3 years
  • No more than 1 preventable chargeable accident in the previous 3 years
Driver experience must meet one of the criteria categories below:
  • At least 12 months CDL-A experience with less than 6 months flatbed experience
