Job Summary
The CDL Class A Driver (Transport) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport parcels between terminals.
Hours and Wages
- Monday-Friday, 8PM start- completion of route
- 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
- Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
- $3.00- 27.00 per hour, based on experience
- + 5.00 shift premium for start times between 5:00pm - 4:59am
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
- Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms
- Drive between terminals to transport parcels
- Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies
- Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily
- Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to operate a manual transmission
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
- Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
- Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions
Education and Experience
- At least 21 years of age
