The Commerce Strategy team is within the North American Consulting division, and focuses on the application of research, analytics and critical thinking to key decisions about Retail, Shoppers and Marketplace activities.
Purpose
You will be working very closely with a team of experienced client partners and seasoned research and analytics experts within the Consulting group’s custom strategies team, to help Clients identify and capture purpose-led growth opportunities. Senior Consultants are expected to combine both “right” and “left” brain skills across engagements along with a high degree of independence, to own Client deliverables and elevate organizational thinking. Senior Consultants play an integral role in supporting all aspects of Client engagements by leading data analysis, manipulating/synthesizing various data sets, translating data into insight, creating Client presentations, and working with partners and clients to prepare for workshops.
While our Clients span a range of different industries, we work most closely with regional and global Retailers, Technology Companies and Consumer Packaged Goods manufacturers, and, as a Senior Consultant, you would benefit from an existing understanding of these sectors, while developing further depth within them. This role provides the opportunity to gain a deep understanding of multiple industries and product categories with small and large data sets. Furthermore, you will develop a practical, actionable business analysis expertise that only a data-driven consultancy can provide.
Key Outcomes
- Contribution to the delivery of internal and external projects undertaking the fol lowing types of work:
- Listen for key Client issues and/or business questions and effectively articulate how various solutions – analytical tools, data-sets, reports and analyses - can answer them.
- Independently create and execute project plans using the key tools, analytic methodologies and data sources of the group.
- Develop expertise in Commerce analytical tools and become a local center of excellence.
- Visualize data-driven information effectively, creating desktop ready PowerPoint slides with appropriate data charts, headlines, and key takeaways.
- Effectively present insights from completed projects, telling stories from data, highlighting implications and articulating legitimate reasons behind conclusions drawn.
- Elevate existing deliverables and methodologies employed in our organization through creative freedom and inspiration.
- Exhibit a positive and collaborative approach when interacting with Consultants, Clients and other stakeholders.
- Work with Consultants to identify opportunities and confidently showcase analytical solutions and tools in front of Clients.

Skills & experience needed
A Bachelor’s Degree or greater. Analytically rigorous fields such as business, economics, finance, mathematics, computer science, or engineering would be an added advantage.
3+ years of prior experience working in the fields of Consulting, Analytics, Shopper/Consumer Research, CPG/Retail, Sales, and/or Marketing
Have demonstrated the use of data to solve problems and bring business ideas to life.
Strong communication that can convey complex ideas to business stakeholders in clear ways to drive action
Have demonstrated the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
The ability to engage independently and confidently with senior stakeholders in all Client engagements over time.
2+ years of strong quantitative and analytical skills and experience working with analytical software and/or data querying tools such as SQL, R, SPSS, etc would be a highly added advantage.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Suite (Slides, Sheets)
