**Responsibilities**
Operate extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) equipment and performs ECMO therapy according to physician orders.
+ Monitor pump functioning throughout patient therapy and maintains pump integrity.
+ Monitor circuit volume and administers products, medications and/or volumes as ordered.
+ Monitor anticoagulation, electrolyte, acid-base balance and blood-gas composition values and adjusts ECMO circuit to maintain physician's orders.
+ Generate and compile appropriate documentation and charges related to ECMO.
+ Precept new ECMO team members.
**Requirements**
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
+ BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
+ One or more of the following required:
+ Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
+ Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
+ Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
+ High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
**Additional Preferences**
Due to the current needs of the department an experienced ECMO Specialist is required.
