  • Diagnose and repair vacuum trucks, tankers, and related equipment
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
  • Work with diesel engines, pumps, and vacuum systems

Job Description

Our client, a leading gas and welding supply distributor, is seeking a Service Technician to join their team. As a Service Technician, you will be part of the Service and Rental department supporting a diverse range of equipment and clients. This position would troubleshoot malfunctioning electrical welding units as well as inspect returned rental equipment. The technician will work on a variety of equipment including: MIG, TIG, and Stick welders, Plasma Cutters, Robotics, and diesel and gas engine driven welders and generators.

**Job Title:** Service (Equipment Repair) Technician

**Location:** Plymouth, MN

**Pay Range:** $23 - $28/hour

**Position Type** : 4 Month Contract-to-Hire

**Shift:** Monday through Friday, typical shifts start between 7am - 9am and work until 3:30 - 5:30.

**What's the Job?**

+ Diagnose mechanical and/or electronic problems in welding equipment.

+ Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and tests on welders.

+ Repair wiring and electronic components as needed.

+ Read schematics, order parts, and install components efficiently.

+ Provide warranty service on various welding brands including Lincoln and Miller.

**What's Needed?**

+ Knowledge of electricity and electronics.

+ Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

+ Able to work with minimal supervision or direction.

+ Electronic or Mechanical vocational degree OR at least 5 years of experience with welding equipment maintenance.

+ Willingness to secure Lincoln and Miller "Certified Technician" status - company paid.
