This Role:
BioLite is looking for a hands-on Director of E-Commerce to own and grow the D2C business at BioLite. You will build a profitable e-commerce engine through a mix of acquisition, merchandising, conversion, and retention initiatives, all guided by data-backed analysis and insights. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this is a senior position with P&L responsibility and plays an important l role in the organization as an expert in unlocking the next stage of growth for our digital channels. To be successful you will
identify, sequence, and implement high-impact strategies and be able to measure results. This is an exciting time to join BioLite, with major product launches coming in 2024.
Core Responsibilities:
Direct P&L Management
- Achieve annual revenue targets while maintaining profitability (spend and ROAS) goals
- Own the business planning and forecast for BioLiteEnergy.com storefronts including revenue, inventory, and channel planning. Analyze and adjust forecasts on an ongoing basis
Full Funnel Growth Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute holistic digital marketing strategies including Paid Search and Social, Affiliate, SEO, Email & Retention.
- Identify priority levers and ensure resources and testing strategies are allocated appropriately
- Collaborate with marketing team on communications, campaigns and product launch calendar to ensure cohesive brand experience across customer touchpoints.
Website Experience
- Work with Ecom Operations manager to optimize virtual merchandising and BioLite Storefronts
- Use heatmaps and event-tracking to map common customer journeys and identify opportunities to improve conversion and average order value
- Develop testing calendar for website optimization
Ecommerce Analytics & Intelligence
- Design & deliver weekly KPI report to VP Marketing and CEO; this is not just a PDF of numbers, this is an active narrative you own regarding the state of the direct business at BioLite
- Implement high-impact analytic projects that reveal priority opportunities for growth investment: CLTV Analysis, Attribution Modeling, Customer Journey analysis, etc
- Monthly margin and profitability reporting; quarterly State of The Union on Growth with opportunities to unlock additional resource and budget based on performance data.
This Role at BioLite
- You sit on the Marketing Team and work closely with the VP, Director of Design, Marketing Coordinator, and E-commerce Operations Manager
- You can extract and analyze data from multiple platforms and produce a compelling data story with insights and recommendations. You create the reports; you don’t expect them to be given to you.
- You manage projects and proactively engage stakeholders and flag roadblocks
- You are ready to push the envelope on ideas and experimentation but root your recommendations in analytics and brand fit
- You excel working as an individual contributor but are ready to expand to agency and potential headcount management as the ecommerce department grows
- You are eager to learn all things BioLite, but also have your eyes on broader industry trends that you will feed back to the team to keep us competitive and sharp
You Have:
- 7+ years in e-commerce with at least 4 years in senior strategic role
- Experience scaling budgets from low six figures to millions in annual spend
- Experience working across consumer goods with wide range of price points: $2 to 2000
- Experience launching into new categories
- Experience with Test-Learn-Reporting frameworks - proactively report back on key initiatives
- Experience at a growth-stage organization
- Experience with Shopify
- Understanding of profitable acquisition required
- Direct in-platform experience building, launching, monitoring campaigns on Meta & Google
- Weathered industry tailwinds and headwinds (iOS changes) and have actionable opinions on how to move forward successfully
- Confident in data analysis and structural best practices; experience with GA4, Tag Manager, and Data Studio highly desired
- A firm understanding in the difference between presenting raw data vs robust analysis with implications and recommendations
- Ability to right-size project scopes to budgets and timelines; (ie your asks match the potentials for impact with appropriate analysis to back up hypotheses)
