EMPLOYEE TESTIMONIES

“I chose to work at the EC because I knew it would help with my professional development. I did not expect it to change my life in so many positive ways. Here, I have learned how to get out of my comfort zone, become an effective communicator, and have a lasting impact on the university through my fundraising efforts. The EC has taught me how to lead by example, and I am so proud to be apart of a diverse team of individuals who are all working toward the advancement of Ohio State. My time as a student engagement specialist has inspired me to hopefully continue my work once I graduate as I apply to become full-time specialist at the Engagement Center.” - Haley, recently graduated Student Supervisor and current Full Time Engagement Specialist.

“After transferring from Ohio State Lima to main campus, I needed a job to help support myself for my first time living alone. Being an extremely reserved person, I never thought I would excel at a job like this because of its social nature, but chose to apply to become more confident and professional. I had never thought about a career in philanthropy until I worked here and I made the decision to change my field of study because of this job. After being promoted into two leadership roles as a student, I am now working full-time at the Engagement Center with opportunities and connections you cannot find anywhere else. The skills and lessons I learned being in a leadership position pre graduation is something that you do not find at just any campus job.” - Jasmine, previous Lead Student Supervisor and current Full Time Engagement Specialist.
