As a Senior Engineer of Electric Power Systems, you will contribute, and lead research & development of advanced electrical power & energy systems and components used primarily in utility applications. You will engage with and support several GE Vernova businesses as well as several United States government customers and partners. You will also be encouraged to explore new or revolutionary ideas which have not found a home in a GE Vernova business yet.
**Job Description**
**Roles and Responsibilities**
+ Perform advanced, leading-edge research in a variety of electric power system areas. We focus on technology that enables more reliable and efficient power generation, transmission & distribution. Our major customers include GE Vernova internal businesses, US Dept. of Energy, and the US Dept. of Defense.
+ Lead technology development in a wide range of areas including the integration of renewable energy technologies such as wind and solar, WAMS, HVDC, distribution automation, power system protection, and microgrids. Many of these project collaborations are required within the internal organization by actively working on system related aspects with the electrical machines, power electronics, and electrical propulsion and energy storage teams.
+ Work with other Research teams to explore applications of power systems which can impact GE Vernova products like Energy Management System, Distributed Energy Resource Management System, Market Management System etc.
As a Senior Engineer - Electric Power Systems, you will:
+ Work independently as well as guide development of new technologies and capabilities for GE's power generation, transmission, distribution and end-user product offerings by analyzing system requirements and needs to be translated into existing and new products.
+ Lead multi-disciplinary project teams and provide power system analysis expertise in areas such as real-time modeling, simulation, network modeling, system analysis, protection, transient stability analysis, grid codes, economic dispatch, HVDC/FACTS, etc.
+ Shaping of new proposal areas with GE Vernova businesses as well as multiple government agencies, universities and national laboratories. Contribute and lead proposal teams as Principal Investigators or as a team member. Participate in business technology and strategy meetings.
+ Participate in the development of grid-control algorithms, from control of distributed energy resources (DERs) to provide services to the grid, to algorithms to improve the grid connection of inverters. Develop techniques to efficiently assess the impact of DERs on the grid and adapt modern distribution automation and management systems for operation with DERs.
+ Participate in the creation of simulation models for grid configurations and grid assets and perform different types of simulations (direct sequence, EMT, etc.).
+ Develop algorithms and solutions to improve grid resiliency against cyber-physical disruptions.
+ Perform analytical work to define, meet or exceed customer entitlements.
+ Participate in the development and identification of new technology, product and service opportunities.
+ Effectively communicate results by preparing written reports and making presentations describing analyses performed, solutions developed, and value obtained.
+ Connect the organization to the latest technology developments and trends.
+ Participate in IP assessments and demonstrate awareness of competing and disruptive technologies.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in electric power systems or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in electric power systems.
+ Demonstrated power system engineering experience in at least three of the following:
+ Power system impact of high penetration renewable energy systems with power electronics interfaces
+ Electrical network modeling
+ Transmission or distribution system planning and optimization
+ Impact of novel and intelligent devices on power systems (e.g. HVDC, FACTS, storage, electric vehicles, grid forming inverters etc.)
+ Control and Optimization technologies
+ Machine Learning applications for Power System

The base pay range for this position is $111,200-$185,400. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. This position will be posted until at least 9/2/2025.

**JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:**
Responsible for using specialized equipment to locate Entergy's underground electric facilities in compliance with the LA Dig Law and doing so in a safe, timely and accurate manner.
**JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Be a safety champion; obey all safe work procedures, perform daily Hazard Assessments, maintain vehicle inspections, attend all required safety meetings, complete all safety mandated training and report any safety events including near misses.
+ Develop and maintain proficiency using the locating equipment tolocate and properly mark underground facilities in compliance with the LA Dig Law therefore avoiding dig ins by excavators.
+ Develop and maintain proficiency using Dig Tix (Ticket Management System) to document all locating jobs as well as computer-based applications such as GT Viewer and Epoch Field.
+ Monitor excavation activity in the area.Develop and maintain good working relationships with excavators which will help when coordinating work and eliminating possible damages to Entergy's underground facilities
+ Identify and report any discrepancies between underground facilities in the field and those in Entergy's electronic mapping systems. Report damages to Entergy's underground facilities immediately.
+ Respond to emergency call out during duty rotation for the Damage Prevention group. Be able to work in a team environment which involves taking on additional work when other areas are overloaded, sharing best practices, and fostering unity and collaboration.

Tasks which are expected to be performed include but are not limited to;
- Experience measuring, bending, threading and installing electrical conduit to include MC, EMT, ridged raceways and PVC. Installation to be completed at grade level, elevated heights from ladders and lifts or in ditches as needed
- Properly and efficiently set up for wire install, pulling wire and operating wire tuggers
- Capable of terminating panels, setting fixtures, installing devices, installing cable tray
- Must be well organized, able to work efficiently and demonstrate good time management skills
- Ensure special equipment needs are communicated to the foreman
- Interpret and understand job drawings to facilitate install of electrical system
- Ability to establish material list and ensure material needs are communicated to the foreman
- Ability to achieve the weekly benchmark objectives established by the foreman
- Maintain familiarity with the plans, schedule and expectations for job based upon directives of foreman
- Ensure safe work practices and maintain a safe work environment for all personnel.
- Utilize all assigned PPE as appropriate for the hazards encountered
- Maintain a positive work environment which promotes a culture of safety and open communication
- Maintain a personal tool cache including hand tools, drill, drivers and all necessary attachments
- 5 year's experience completing project installation of electrical systems in the commercial electrical industry.
- Experience working in the field completing assigned tasks and functions.
- Experience with trade inspections, dealing with various jurisdictions and inspectors.
- Associated trade certifications are beneficial but are not required
- Must be able to sit, bend, stoop.
- Must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to climb, crawl and squat as the job demands
- Full-Time
- 4.5-day work week preferred

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance to Technicians when requested or when necessary to ensure high-quality of service to customers
- Lead, direct, and motivate department to reach their highest level of potential and achieve maximum motivation and attitude within service department
- Invest time in personal development to increase personal leadership within departments
- Provide ongoing technical and safety training to ensure we maintain the level of knowledge and skills to do quality work, promote a safe working environment, and prepare for future growth
- Ensure all Technicians have the necessary tools, equipment, and manpower to maximize their potential to provide the highest quality service to our customers as possible
- Work with the dispatch department to make sure the right technician goes to the right job.
- Manage and guide service technicians, as well as maintain involvement with call Center Manager, Lead Coordination, and Dispatch Center Managers daily
- Consistently provide service and sales performance support to the techs via ride a longs, site visits, and coaching calls
- Promote enthusiasm and brand loyalty during daily huddles, team meetings and 1:1’s.
- Help develop annual budgets, control expenses, and meet or exceed plan.
- Ensure sufficient staff levels to meet ongoing customer demand and seasonal spikes.
- Train, develop and hold your team accountable to exceptional customer satisfaction and performance standards.
- Oversee customer issue resolution including site visits, oversight of repairs, and follow ups
- Other tasks and responsibilities as required to maintain efficient department operations
Here's what you need to bring to the table:
- 5+ years of Service Management preferred
- 7-10 years of experience as an Electrician preferred
- Strong communication skills. You're outgoing, self-motivated, and a team player.
- Experience managing a departments budget
- The ability to effectively manage team members
- The ability and willingness to learn the industry standards and practices, including product details and company services offered.
- Exemplary customer service, including maintaining customer relationships and ensuring repeat customers by coaching your team to provide services and taking care of any customer concerns or complaints quickly and professionally.
- The ability and willingness to perform administrative tasks.
- Working knowledge of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws. You'll ensure your team adheres to all regulations.
- A talent for resolving customer issues by developing and maintaining great relationships with customers.
- You'll regularly audit all projects to ensure all standards are met and that all work is carried out effectively, correctly, and thoroughly.
- Oversight of team members performing inspections, preparing reports, and doing installs and repairs; if necessary, you'll carry out these job duties personally to ensure the highest quality of work.
