Position Summary
The Electrical Controls Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the design, development and implementation of electrical and control systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, optimizing operational efficiency and driving innovation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

- Lead electrical and controls projects from design to implementation.
- Supervise, mentor and develop the electrical and controls Engineering team.
- Oversee the design, development and testing of electrical systems and control solutions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align projects with business objectives.
- Ensure designs meet technical specifications, operational requirements, and compliance standards.
- Ensure all designs and installations comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Optimize resource allocation to meet project and organizational goals.
- Identify opportunities to improve system efficiency and implement innovative solutions.
- Provide expert technical guidance and troubleshooting support.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
- Improve processes and workflows by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and taking corrective action as needed.
- Ensure all electrical and control systems comply with relevant national and international standards.
- Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Minimum of 5 years' experience in Electrical and Controls Engineering. Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role. Experience with AB and PLC programming/troubleshooting, SCADA systems, power distribution, automation, Rockwell RS Logix family of PLC and the FactoryTalk View Studio HMI software platforms for new equipment is required. Experience using electrical design software (AutoCAD, EPLAN, etc.) and additional relevant experience required. PMP Certification, Six Sigma, or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Job Purpose
The Electrical Controls Design role provides high quality, reasonably priced, on-time hardware, software, and safety design solutions to ensure stable new model and new technology introduction in all Honda Development and Manufacturing North American manufacturing facilities.
Key Accountabilities
- Work in an engineering team atmosphere understand design requirements to create/modify automated production equipment.
- Provide electrical design to produce engineering hardware data to assemble/build, and wire a control system for production equipment
- Provide electrical design to produce engineering software data to accomplish the control task for production equipment processes. (i.e. PLC, HMI, Motion Control, and Robotic programming).

- Determine appropriate hardware and components to include in a control system to meet machine safety and process requirements.
- Determine appropriate software programming and logic to accomplish the safety and functional control to meet machine safety and process requirements.
- Determine risk to associate safety and production stability based on the control system design creation or modification task.
Working Conditions
- 75% Office environment - Design.
- 25% Manufacturing floor – Installation / System up / Maturation.
- Must be willing to conduct physical confirmations in the manufacturing environment and conduct testing/debug on the manufacturing floor and/or at vendor sites. Sometimes on weekends.
- Travel up to 20% (North American Manufacturing Plants) Potential for International Travel.
- Average work week is 45~48 hours (some weekends and 1 week shutdowns twice per year).
