**General Summary**
With direct supervision from the Manager of Electrical Engineering or senior staff, apply electrical analysis, design and drafting skills to develop engineering design documents for lighting, power, and associated control systems. Provide computer-aided design (CAD) technical production support in the discipline of electrical engineering and related coordination for process and building systems.
**Essential Job Functions:**
+ Possess basic engineering knowledge to support the designer and/or engineering to design or analyze electrical systems for the installation, interconnection, and control of electrical and mechanical components using applicable codes.
+ Prepare working drawings using computer aided design (CAD) technology. Provide CAD support to more senior staff.
+ Work closely with architects and engineers during design phase of project to understand project scope of work and provide assistance to setup the electrical model. Make corrections and produce final documents for engineer's review. Check for integration of sections and coordination of disciplines.
+ Work with architects and engineers to resolve document coordination and production problems.
+ Possess/demonstrate the graphic ability to produce construction documents per company standards upon request.

Job Description
**General Summary:**

+ Possess / demonstrate the engineering knowledge and understanding to design and analyze electrical systems for the installation, interconnection, and control of architectural, electrical and mechanical components.
+ Using applicable codes and standards, design lighting and power distribution systems, low voltage systems (e.g. fire alarm systems, telecommunications/data networks, lighting control systems, power monitoring systems, etc.), and sizing of equipment.
+ Knowledge of the NFPA standards, as they apply to the electrical design
+ Able to adhere to project quality, budget, and schedule.
+ Prepare feasibility studies and schematic design packages of lighting, power systems, etc.
+ Possess / demonstrate the graphic ability to produce construction documents per company and client standards
+ Communicate and work with all other disciplines to produce coordinated construction documents
+ Conduct field measuring and checking at the project site
+ Maintain organized project file containing project calculations, schedules, correspondence, appropriate reference materials, etc.

**Primary Responsibilities**
+ Design and develop electrical systems for buildings and similar structures including power and control signals
+ Perform load calculations, determine electrical requirements, select and specify electrical components, materials, and equipment
+ Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal electrical codes and standards
+ Prepare and review detailed plans, specifications, reports and other documentation for electrical installations
+ Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and construction teams during installation of electrical systems

**Basic Qualifications**

+ Previous experience in designing electrical systems for commercial and industrial projects
+ Experience designing and working with single-phase and 3-phase AC power
+ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
+ Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks for electrical design and documentation
+ Ability to work independently and within a team
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret-level security clearance
+ U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED

**General Summary:**
