**What you'll do:**
This position is responsible for performing a variety of advanced assembly and electrical operations to finalize our medium voltage switchgear products. Operations would include the use of hand tools, hardware, advanced understanding of blueprints and diagrams. Furthermore, a working knowledge of electricity and circuits is a plus.
**In this function you will:**
- Position and install component parts according to material list and blueprints.
- Assembly includes a wiring task whereby it is necessary to stand, sit, bend and work from a ladder throughout the day.
- Wire lugs are crimped on the end of the wire and are done with manual and automatic crimpers and strippers.
- Execute Point-to-Point wiring diagrams in order to install electrical wiring. Routing of wire from one point to the other requires the ability to plan ahead and work from a schematic.
- Able to work off ladders and in tight spaces.
- Focus on quality, customer service, safety, productivity.

Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Systems Engineer to join our innovative team. You will be working on cutting-edge projects that support the first responder industry, particularly in the development of fire apparatus. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to define electrical system requirements and work closely with suppliers on component feasibility.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define electrical system requirements.
+ Develop and release electrical system components into the production system.
+ Create, organize, and document bills of material for electrical systems on Fire Apparatus.
+ Work with outside suppliers on component feasibility, development, and integration.
+ Provide build support at various stages throughout the product development process.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline.
+ 0-3 or more years of experience in vehicle electrical system design, integration, or testing.
+ Experience with electrical component development, wiring harnesses, and schematics.
+ Good understanding of software/hardware interaction.
+ Demonstrated experience managing project deliverables.
+ Knowledge of general product development processes.
+ Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively.
+ Clear and concise oral/written communication skills.
+ Ability to work off-shift hours, as needed, to support production during builds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Hands-on mechanical troubleshooting experience with 12V Electrical Systems.
+ Experience in 2D/3D design, whether through classroom or internship exposure.
Work Environment
The work environment is a smaller shop setting, with a mix of 50/50 office and floor work. During heavy design periods, this can shift to 75% office work. The company has a family-owned atmosphere, valuing employees who contribute to its fast growth. You will receive direct training from OEMs and be part of a close-knit team dedicated to building and supporting essential services for first responders.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alexis, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $36.00/hr.
