Chemours is seeking an Electrical Trades High School Student Apprentice to join our Operations team! This position will report directly to the Lab Maintenance Supervisor.
The Electrical Trades High School Student Apprentice under the guidance of an experienced colleague will receive specialized on the job training. This role involves tasks such as adhering to workplace procedures, following health and safety guidance, and completing tasks related to supporting active operations by maintaining and servicing mechanical and electrical equipment.
**Location:** Newark, DE
**Hours:** Part-time schedule up to 20 hours per week
**Term:** 12-18-month assignment between June-June 2026
**The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:**
+ Must work in full compliance and with the approved safety guidance and lab personnel
+ Follow written standard operating procedures
+ Assist with executing preventative maintenance job plans for repetitive work
+ Identifying and repairing components of a machine, by troubleshooting, making repairs or installing new parts
+ Document daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed within approved guidelines and procedures

+ Enrollment at New Castle County Vo-Tech School District at time of assignment
+ High school student enrolled in Electrical Trades program
+ Mechanical aptitude in dealing with wrenches, hammers, and other similar tools

+ Good interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work well and receive feedback from others

Eaton's division is currently seeking an Electrical Installation Technician- 1st Shift. This position is a great fit for a skilled assembler, or someone coming from the construction or HVAC industry.
The hourly rate for this position is $20.50 - $23 per hour.
The core hours are: 6:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Thursday; 6am - 10am Friday
This is a 1st shift position, with core shifts hours from 6:00a-3:30p Monday -Thursday, and 6:00a - 10:00a Friday. Overtime may exceed these hours and can be mandatory at times.

**What you'll do:**
This position is responsible for performing a variety of advanced assembly and electrical operations to finalize our medium voltage switchgear products. Operations would include the use of hand tools, hardware, advanced understanding of blueprints and diagrams. Furthermore, a working knowledge of electricity and circuits is a plus.
**In this function you will:**
- Position and install component parts according to material list and blueprints.
- Assembly includes a wiring task whereby it is necessary to stand, sit, bend and work from a ladder throughout the day.
- Wire lugs are crimped on the end of the wire and are done with manual and automatic crimpers and strippers.
- Execute Point-to-Point wiring diagrams in order to install electrical wiring. Routing of wire from one point to the other requires the ability to plan ahead and work from a schematic.
- Able to work off ladders and in tight spaces.
- Focus on quality, customer service, safety, productivity.
**Qualifications:**
**Required (Basic) Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

+ Preventative maintenance, installation, and repair of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation equipment (i.e.: substations, power distribution systems, switchgear motors, motor controls, systems and components, process controls, instrumentation, and pneumatic equipment).
+ Troubleshooting of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation equipment.
+ Basic instrumentation maintenance & calibration activities.
+ Safe operation of maintenance mobile equipment such as light vehicles.
+ Work area and equipment safety inspections.
+ Perform other duties as required.
**Qualifications**
**WHAT YOU BRING TO FREEPORT**
+ Currently enrolled in an associate degree or certification program in electrical, instrumentation/control systems or relevant field, **OR**
+ Recent graduate (within 12 months prior to internship start date) with an associate degree or certification in electrical, instrumentation/control systems or relevant field.
**WHAT WE REQUIRE**
+ Ability to understand, apply and communicate verbal and written work and safety-related instructions, procedures, job assignments and applicable safety standards in English.
+ Must be able to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
+ Work is in an office, mine, or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see.
+ Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to fifty (50) pounds during the workday.
+ Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
+ Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as per applicable state laws.
**Compensation:**
The estimated pay range for this role is currently $22.50/hour. Individual pay rates will be based on education and relevant experience.

**In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:**
+ Interpret and revise electrical schematic drawings
+ Conduct wire audit and field verification trips at customer sites
+ Design control system hardware to meet customer needs
+ Develop and partition I/O databases
+ Create drawing packages related to installation design solutions
+ Supervise installation sub-contractors at the site during installation and commissioning activities
+ Collaborate with other business units
+ Manage multiple concurrent projects, efficiently

+ Knowledge of plant instrumentation signal varieties and field wiring
+ AutoCAD or similar experience and expertise
+ Comfortable traveling up to 30%
