**What You'll Do**

**Pay Details:** 45.00 per hour

**Background Check and Drug Testing Information:**

**Pay Range Minimum:**
$104,229
**Pay Range Maximum:**
$182,374
**Additional Compensation:**
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.

We'll Expect You To:
* Be responsible for design and specification of electrical systems for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment facilities
* From planning studies to final design, the electrical engineer will lead in preparing contract documents for plans, specifications, and cost estimates for complex projects
* Electrical systems include low- and medium-voltage power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, UPS, and batteries
* Expertly apply knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering and design concepts, principles, best practices, codes, and guidelines related to electrical engineering industry
* Manage several different assignments simultaneously
* Provide quality control and quality assurance of electrical engineering plans, specifications, and estimates in the water market
* Perform power system studies for electrical systems including load flow, short circuit, coordination and arc flash
* Have competency in equipment sizing, grounding, and relay coordination
* Perform field visits and conduct site investigations for public and private clients
* Provide services during construction including submittal reviews, response to Contractor's request for information, review and approval of change orders, and preparation of record drawings
* Collaborate with multi-discipline teams across multiple office locations
* Develop basis of design reports and technical memorandums
* Mentor junior staff
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
* Professional Engineer (PE) license and ability to be licensed in multiple states (or ability to obtain PE license within one year of hire)
* Substantial years of experience in professional design of electrical systems associated with water projects
* Low and medium voltage power distribution experience
* Solid understanding of applicable industry electrical codes, and standard practices, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA requirements
* Hands-on knowledge and design proficiency in electrical standards, codes, and vendor equipment options
* Electrical system testing and commissioning experience
* Proficiency with NFPA 820 requirements
Ideally, you'll also have
* Instrumentation and Control system design experience
* Experience with LEED certification or similar sustainability experience
