Your responsibilities will include:

**Qualifications**
_Basic Requirements:_
+ 1+ year of experience working with aircraft wiring installation in an electrical capacity.
_Preferred Qualifications:_
+ 2+ years of experience in EE Technical Design for wiring installation.
+ Experience working with electrical architectures on a defense-related program.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills for complex technical issues.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
_Typical Education/Experience:_
+ Associate degree + 3 years of relevant experience, or
+ High school diploma/technical degree + 5+ years of hands-on experience.

**BWXT is currently seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician for its Lynchburg, VA location!**
**Job Description/Duties:**
+ Electrically troubleshoot and repair Industrial Equipment, Material Handling systems, Power Distribution systems, Frequency Drives, Programmable Logic Controllers and Relay Logic.
+ Perform upgrades to facility infrastructure and perform preventive maintenance as required.
**Job Qualifications/Requirements:**
+ Technical school preferred (Electrical Program).
+ Electrical Maintenance experience preferred.
+ Will be required to complete an Electrical Curriculum (VTI or CVCC) VTI (Vocational Technical Institute).
+ Will be required to complete Apprenticeship program.
+ Must be a self-starter and must be willing, and able, to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures and/or other standard work practices.
+ Must be able to support equipment outages/Shutdown and must be able to work weekends, holidays, off-shifts, and call-in's when required.
+ Must be capable of working in a team environment with Engineering, Maintenance Craftsmen, and Vendors.
+ Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

**_What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be._**
+ Inspect and diagnose electrical problems in various systems and equipment.
+ Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including Motors, switchboards, controllers, and transformers
+ Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment, including cleaning and replacing parts
+ Test electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
+ Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and NEC codes.
+ Provide guidance and training to other maintenance staff on electrical systems and equipment.
+ Diagnosis and program PLC and Drives.
+ Wire in machinery up to 3 phase 480V.
+ Install conduit and run wire to circuits and equipment.
+ Enter workorders in CMMS program.
+ Follow company PPE requirements and safety policies.
**_Your Education Should Be._**
+ High school diploma or equivalent: technical degree or certification in electrical maintenance.
+ 3+ years of experience in electrical maintenance or related field.
+ Electrical license preferred.

**Responsibilities**
+ Install and repair systems, apparatus, and components of industrial machinery.
+ Conduct electrical and mechanical maintenance.
+ Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
+ Service and repair gearboxes and variable frequency drives.
+ Troubleshoot and program PLCs, particularly Allen Bradley systems.
+ Operate and maintain Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficient in PLC troubleshooting and maintenance.
+ Ability to read Ladder Logic to diagnose / repair PLC issues.
+ Skilled in electrical maintenance and industrial electrical maintenance.
