An **Electronic Design Intern** is responsible for designing, improving, and maintaining electrical hardware for complex systems in the product domain of Agriculture. As an intern, you will contribute across the entire product lifecycle, from initial development through production and eventually obsolescence. You will work closely with engineers, management, and customers to problem-solve, identify and implement cost reductions, drive product improvements, and perform root cause analysis. This role emphasizes collaboration, technical curiosity, and the ability to apply engineering fundamentals in real-world applications. Internship begins Summer 2026, with potential for an earlier Spring start.
**Your Impact**
+ Prepare and interpret schematic drawings, PCB layouts, and other visual aids.
+ Aid in cost reduction activities related to component selection, circuit redesign, and PCB updates.
+ Aid in root cause analysis on complex electrical systems.
+ Conduct research activities including exploration and selection of new components.
+ Design, coordinate, and conduct testing of electrical systems, parts, and equipment.
+ Participate in technical design reviews.
+ Prepare technical design specifications.
**Your Experience and Qualifications**
+ Current student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
+ Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience with using electronics lab testing equipment.
+ Experience with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools.

**In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:**
+ Design electronic circuits, from schematics to initial PCB design.
+ Design and develop FPGA-based solutions for various applications, including signal processing, communications, and control systems.
+ Implement complex algorithms and functionality in FPGA hardware using VHDL, Verilog, or System Verilog.
+ Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software engineers, and system architects, to define system requirements and specifications.
+ Conduct FPGA synthesis, place and route, and timing analysis to optimize performance and meet design constraints.
+ Debug and troubleshoot FPGA designs using simulation, tools and hardware debugging tools.
+ Collaborate with firmware/software engineers to integrate FPGA designs into larger system architectures.
+ Stay up to date with the latest FPGA technologies, tools, and methodologies to continuously improve design practices and processes.
+ Document design specifications, test plans, and results to ensure thoroughness and traceability throughout the development lifecycle.
+ Build automation test frameworks to accelerate development and ensure product reliability
+ Work with 3 party IP suppliers to define and integrate solutions

**For This Role You Will Need:**
+ Bachelor's degree in computer/electrical engineering, Computer Science or a related STEM degree AND 5 or more years of experience or Master's degree in computer/electrical engineering, Computer Science or a related STEM degree AND 4 or more years of experience
+ Familiarity with CAD tools like Altium or similar.
+ Familiarity designing and understanding electronic circuits using DAC,ADC, Transistor-based inputs and outputs, MOSFets and power supplies, as well as micro-controllers, FPGA's and their peripheral circuits, among others
+ Exposure to high-speed digital design, signal integrity principles, and component selection for complex embedded systems
+ Hands-on experience with FPGA design, such as Lattice MachXO3 and iCE40
+ Proficiency in hardware description languages (VHDL or Verilog)
+ Experience with FPGA-based embedded systems, high-speed interfaces (e.g., PCIe, Ethernet), and memory architectures.
+ Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Use advanced avionics knowledge and engineering discipline to complete engineering tasks
+ Introduce and lead creative and innovative solutions for test capacity and test time reduction to enable productivity
+ Work with global teams and develop action plans to drive all value engineering projects

+ Identify opportunities for repair cost reduction and manage projects from solution development through deployment

**Senior Electronic Design Engineer / Electronic Application Engineer**

**What You'll Be Doing:**
+ Leading bids, proposals, and product concepts for new electronic products.
+ Driving strategic technology planning and multi-generational product development.
+ Designing and implementing concept solutions for Independent Research and Development (IRAD) projects.
+ Providing technical leadership and mentoring to your team.
+ Tackling hands-on design challenges and delivering high-quality solutions.
**Your Superpowers:**
+ Circuit design and analysis.
+ EMI mitigation and signal integrity analysis.
+ PCB routing and component selection.
+ Impedance matching, power regulation, and voltage drop analysis.
+ Built-in-test (BIT) implementation and more!
**What We're Looking For:**
+ A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Electronics Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
+ 8-10 years of experience in electronic design.
+ Proven expertise in electronic product development.
+ Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
+ A lean mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
**Bonus Points For:**
+ A Master's degree in engineering.
+ Experience in complex avionics systems development.
+ Cross-domain expertise in electronic design, custom logic design, and software development.
+ Direct customer engagement experience.
+ Knowledge of EMC, thermal testing, and product qualification.
**Salary Range:** $121,500.00 - $62,100.00 DOE. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

The base pay range for this position is 121,500.00 - 162,100.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on 10/31/25.
