**Job Description**
**Join a dynamic team tasked with assembling and reworking consumer wearable electronic devices. This role involves 85% assembly and 15% rework, maintaining and upgrading prototypes, products, tools, and assemblies in support of engineering activities. The typical work schedule is 8am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday.**
**Responsibilities**
+ Build and rework prototypes consistent with engineering specifications through mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, soldering, and adhesive joining
+ Maintain and upgrade proof of concept devices and prototypes using various components such as pneumatics, sensors, motors, cameras, and textiles.
+ Systematically troubleshoot design issues and communicate results with engineers for further analysis.
+ Conduct component-level debugging and offer solutions to complex problems.
+ Perform electromechanical tests independently and document test results accurately.
+ Provide general support for the engineering team.
+ Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring tools and assembly areas are orderly.
+ Offer detailed written feedback to engineers to improve the product from an assembly perspective.
**Essential Skills**
+ Minimum of 2+ years of recent and relevant experience in electronic assembly
+ Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical prints.
+ Experience using hand and power tools; shop tools such as lathes, mills, and drill presses are desired.
+ Proficiency with multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and soldering irons (IPC certification is a plus).
+ Ability to follow strict engineering directions and procedures.
+ Hands-on prototyping skills and mechanical aptitude.
+ Basic math skills and computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheets, and web navigation.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience working in a prototype environment is preferred.
+ Soldering and IPC certification are preferred.
+ Experience using microscopes to apply adhesives is advantageous.
+ Familiarity with GD&T is preferred.

The Electronics Assembly Technician is responsible for performing complex technical tasks, troubleshooting issues, and providing support to other team members. They may also be involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment or systems.

Essential Functions:

• Provides production feedback to the Engineering team w/ blueprints and plans for products & equipment.
• Assists in the Assemble and testing of said products and equipment
• Writes up reports of daily production activity
• Maintains records and files of all completed engineering work
• Inspects product design for problems or errors
• Runs tests on products and equipment to ensure they function properly
• Analyzes system or product performance
• Provides suggestions for ways to improve products and equipment
• Keeps apprised of the latest developments and innovations in the industry
• Addresses and resolves glitches and problems with products
• Conducts regular maintenance on production and test equipment
• Answers employee or customer questions about the function and maintenance of products
• Provides technical support to customers and employees
• Ensures that all safety procedures are observed during production work
• Performs other related duties as assigned

**Role Summary/Purpose:**
The Engineering/Manufacturing Electronic Assembly Technician's primary duty is to assemble, rework, upgrade and modify complex new-design engineering and pre-production avionics products to required specifications or instructions. Responsibilities include electronic and electro-mechanical assembly to build prints and/or work instructions. The Engineering/Manufacturing Assembly Technician will partner with engineering to enable effective manufacturing processes and ensure new product's readiness for volume manufacture.
**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Hand assembly and rework to circuit card assemblies, major sub-assemblies and top-level unit assemblies
+ Proficient in the use of standard electronic manufacturing equipment and tools
+ Capability in the mechanical assembly/dis-assembly of complex engineering development products
+ Provide input to assembly and rework instructions for new products
+ Maintain product assembly records in quality data tracking system
+ Ensure product compliance and quality
+ Attend and participate in team meetings
**Qualifications/Requirements:**
+ Associate degree in an electronics technology discipline from an accredited university or college; _Or_ High School Diploma / GED with at least two years of electronic soldering and assembly experience
+ Must be able to pass a solder and repair skills test
+ Capable of achieving and maintaining certification in IPC 610 & J-STD soldering specifications

SA-TECH has been supporting the US Navy's mission at Naval Base Ventura County, Point Point Mugu as a prime contractor since 2008. Our responsibilities encompass operating and performing operational-, intermediate-, and depot-level maintenance for aerial and seaborne assets in support of weapon systems test and evaluation and fleet training exercises. We manage all stages of aerial and seaborne target assets’ operational progression from initial inspection and configuration through deployment, return and post-operation maintenance and repair. We provide management, scheduling and execution of aerial and seaborne target operations; operation and maintenance of target recovery vessels (Aerial Vehicle Recovery (AVRs)); asset maintenance and depot repair; depot engineering assistance; recovery of aerial and seaborne assets; inventory management; and management of Government-furnished facilities, materials, vehicles and equipment.

SA-TECH personnel perform commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) to Remote Control conversion to meet PMS-325 production goals for the Seaborne Targets Externally Directed Team (STEDT). We also provide target control system operation and management, and set-up, test and operate assets for System for Naval Target Control (SNTC) and Portable Command and Control Unit (PCCU) support at local and deployed locations.

We are currently seeking to hire a detail-oriented and highly skilled Electronics Assembly Technician (Electronics Technician, Maintenance III) to join our dynamic team in a part-time capacity (about 9 hours a week) . In this role, you will play a critical part in the fabrication and assembly of high-performance electronic components and systems used in advanced air vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in soldering, circuit board assembly and harness fabrication, along with a keen eye for quality and precision.

The following are basic requirements but other duties may be added as needed:

• Fabricate and assemble wiring harnesses, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and coaxial cables in accordance with engineering specifications for integration into air vehicle platforms.
• Operate a range of electronic assembly equipment including soldering stations, rework stations, microscopes, heat guns, crimping tools, and related tools with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
• Assemble complex harness configurations involving thru-hole, surface mount technology (SMT), and intricate interconnection schemes.
• Perform manual assembly of printed circuit boards using SMT processes, ensuring optimal placement and alignment of components.
• Assemble thru-hole PCBs using both manual and wave soldering techniques to ensure robust mechanical and electrical connections.
• Interpret and follow engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics to fabricate and electrically verify harness assemblies to meet design and quality standards.
• Perform functional checks and inspections of completed assemblies, identifying and resolving issues proactively.

Work Conditions:

• Most work will be accomplished in a fast-paced office environment utilizing phone, fax, and desktop computer.
• Ability to lift 30lbs. unassisted.
• Position includes: 80% sitting, 5% reaching, 5% lifting, 5% walking and 5% standing.
• No remote work available.
• Office hours are from 6am - 3:30pm.

Requirements:

Education/Experience/Skills:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience, to preferably include aircraft and instrumentation experience.
• Demonstrable thru-hole, SMT and interconnection skills.
• Ability to use manual as well as wave soldering techniques.
• For wiring, electronics, and instrumentation duties, IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification is preferred.
• Possess a strong basic avionics/electronics background.
• Must be knowledgeable in testing systems and components to ensure functionality in accordance with procedures defined in NAVAIR manuals using specified test equipment.
• Work requirement includes using hand tools, power tools, and engine and electronics test equipment.
• Must be able to read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
• Computer / Networking I MS Office.
• Ability to pass an Industrial I FAA Class 3 or comparable physical (such as a commercial driver license physical).
• Current Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
• U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
