The **Electronics Hardware Engineer** is an executive level technical position, responsible for the direction and oversight of all electronic hardware product designs. They provide strategic direction for the organization in their area of expertise and support business proposal efforts, as appropriate. They ensure the success of the Electronic Hardware and Firmware team by participating in all phases of the design process, from requirements through final design qualification and production launch. They mentor and guide the team through the design process. They review and approve product design details.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Silvus is seeking a full-time **_Senior Electronics Design Engineer_** reporting to the _Engineering Manager, Product Design_ on the Hardware Engineering team. The successful individual in this role will participate in the development of Silvus' MANET radios and other advanced R&D projects with an emphasis on Electronics Hardware/PCBA design. This position is on a hybrid schedule, a minimum of 3 days onsite per week is expected. On-site days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The location for this role is Silvus' HQ in the heart of **_West Los Angeles, CA_** .
The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Component selection, schematic capture and PCB design of electrical systems based on an FPGA SoC with associated memory devices, transceivers, communication peripherals, power management circuitry.
+ Design high fidelity mixed signal audio circuitry with excellent noise immunity.
+ Follow good design practices to achieve successful mixed signal PCB design.
+ Define PCB stack up, materials, and design rules to meet performance requirements and manufacturing feasibility.
+ Perform hardware bring-up, test, and root cause analysis on the bench, using common lab equipment.
+ Work with PCB Designers, Software, FPGA, and RF teams for system-level implementation.
+ Ensure designs do not produce EMI and are well isolated in high EMI environments.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
+ Six years of experience in mixed signal circuit design involving audio and SoCs.
+ Demonstrated experience with complex mixed signal PCB design and HDI routing.
+ Experienced with audio codecs and audio power amplifiers.
+ Experience implementing digital communication peripherals at a hardware level, such as USB 3.0, 10Gb Ethernet and RS232.
+ Strong familiarity with test equipment such as DMM, bench top supply, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
+ Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
+ Proven experience with Xilinx FPGAs, SoCs and the Vivado IDE.
+ Experience with video codecs.
+ Experience with Altium Designer.
+ Knowledge of compliance standards such as FCC, CE Mark and MIL-STD-461.
+ Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or C.
+ Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
+ Problem-solving, data analysis, deductive reasoning, and critical thinking skills.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Silvus is seeking a full-time **_Senior Electronics Design Engineer_** reporting to the _Engineering Manager, Product Design_ on the Hardware Engineering team. The successful individual in this role will participate in the development of Silvus' MANET radios and other advanced R&D projects with an emphasis on Electronics Hardware/PCBA design.
