The **Electronics Design Engineer - Space Exploration Electronic Systems** will:
+ Report directly to the Electronics and Electrical Section Manager as part of group of over 45other Electronics and Electrical Engineers.
+ Work directly with or as a Team Lead and associated Electrical Engineers on a given project.
+ Support new designs from conception, analysis, and manufacturing, through to operational test and deployment.
+ Provide design support and guidance in various aspects of Electronics System Development.
+ Be familiar with NASA specifications for Electronics Component development.
+ Develop component test stand architectures for various components.
+ Design and generate electrical component and lab instrumentation test system designs.
+ Develop and or modify LabVIEW code for various test systems.
+ Develop detailed test verification procedures.
+ Work with electrical and mechanical technicians to build and test designed systems.
+ Develop and test various breakout boxes and digital/analog sensor emulation systems.
+ Perform electrical evaluation/selection of instrumentation (pressure transducers, flow meters, pumps, fans, RTDs, Thermocouples, etc.).
+ Troubleshoot and repair existing test systems.
+ Conduct analog and digital printed circuit board design for various application needs.
+ Develop test software modules to perform specific tests.
+ Work with eCAD designer to develop printed circuit board designs.
+ Work in a laboratory environment, following standard operating procedures. Perform other duties as required and assigned.
**Requisition Qualifications:**

+ Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and normally possess 5-10 years of related experience.
+ Prior experience with Power Supply Design, Power supply soft start circuit design, and switching regulators
+ Prior experience with power supply remote senses, power distribution for PCB layout, Power Supply Phase Impedance measurements, and Power Supply efficiency calculation.
+ Prior experience in test of power supply and conditioning systems.
+ Prior experience with power system stability analysis.
+ Prior experience with circuit design of analog PCB, digital PCB, and power PCB.
+ Prior experience with SPICE Simulation
+ Prior experience with Power Quality
+ Prior experience with bonding and grounding
+ Prior experience with electrical schematic entry and printed circuit board layout tools such as Altium Designer, and version control software like Subversion (SVN)
+ Prior experience with data acquisition systems (especially National Instruments) and LabVIEW code development
+ Prior experience with FPGA circuitry design and coding in associated VHDL development environments (Xilinx FPGA using VIVADO tool).
+ Prior experience with microcontroller circuitry design and associated embeddedsoftware development environments.

  • Build test jigs and breadboard circuits as needed to help with product development and testing.
  • Construct components and/or subassemblies and assembles electronic equipment.
  • Use & maintain laboratory test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Logic analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
  • Train customers, distributors, manufacturing and repair technicians.
  • Record, compute and analyze necessary test data and complete necessary documentation.
  • Recommend improvements in product design, quality, procedures, components, and processes.
  • Report improper operations, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervisors.
  • Follow safety rules and regulations and maintains a neat, clean and orderly work area.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Two-year technical degree beyond High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have formal training in electronics technology.
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields with emphasis on electrical/electronics in an R & D or product development.
  • Must be computer literate and well versed with MS Office products.
  • Some ability to use EDA software applications such as Altium, Eagle, Allegro etc

Function:

We are seeking an entry-level Power Electronics Technician to join our team in a controlled, fast-paced shop environment. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for conducting evaluations, executing tests, and performing repairs and maintenance on a variety of power electronic systems. The role also involves crucial data-entry responsibilities, where accurate documentation of tasks and reports is essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate a keen eye for detail and the ability to adapt to the evolving landscape of power electronics.

Job Duties:

  • Perform evaluation and testing of AC drives, rectifiers, and other power electronics.
  • Ability to work safely and cautiously in a fast-paced work environment, working in low-to-medium voltage areas in a controlled shop.
  • Data-entry of evaluation and testing is extremely common, use of SAP-based software and/or Microsoft applications are required.
  • Perform the required work expeditiously.
  • Comply to company safety programs and precautions.
  • Use of electrical testing equipment to perform static and dynamic checks.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least an associate's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or equivalent.

Engineering Electronics Technician
100% Travel
System One is seeking traveling Engineering Electronics Technicians to support site preparation for contractor installation of racks, ranging from wall mount racks to multiple racks per site at FAA sites. This is a great opportunity to join a respected government contractor in the construction and engineering services sector!
Important Details:
+ 6 months contract opportunity to start (most likely will be temp-to-hire; depends on performance and work load)
+ Pay rate up to $35/hr. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Additional H&W (Health & Wellness ) rate of $4.93/hr (paid in addition to hourly pay rate for the 1st 40 hours worked each week)
+ Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (approximately)
+ Travel costs are reimbursed at the government rate (GSA) based on the assigned duty location (project location). This typically includes travel costs (airfare, rental vehicle, personal vehicle mileage, etc.), lodging (hotel), and per diem (meals and incidental expenses). These are reimbursed at the published government (GSA) rates. These costs are authorized via a Travel Authorization that we would issue in advance of booking travel. Our field staff are deployed for weeks at a time. These are 100% travel positions. Employees are reimbursed for all travel expenses, including weekends, at GSA rates.
+ Only working time (including travel time) is compensable on this contract. Our intent is to have minimal downtime, but we do schedule opportunities for individuals to return home every six weeks on average for around a week. Given that there is ample overtime (10 - 20% is expected) during deployments, the total hours work typically is more than enough to cover any non-elective downtime.

Potential Work Activities:
+ Support site preparation for contractor installation of racks, ranging from wall mount racks to multiple racks per site.
+ Provide critical power circuits and grounding as specified in Engineering Package.
+ Provide essential power convenience outlet circuits for alternating racks.
+ Mounting of 4'x4' Fire Rated Plywood for future mounting of Support Equipment.
+ Installation of NAS Voice Recorder (NVR) cabling and monitors.
+ Installation of Intellectual Property Value Chains (IPVCS) cabling and monitors.
+ Installation of Air-to-Ground Protocol Converter (APC) cabling, cards, and monitors.
+ Support the installation of new cable trays and conduits as required for racks, cables, NVR, IPVCS, APC, and Telecommunications Infrastructure Replacement (TIR), including Remote (RTIR), installations.
+ Install a separate path for fiber at each site, with specific requirements provided by the local FAA POC.
+ Support site preparation for LTE antenna installation on roofs, ensuring paths for antenna cables are established.
+ Support general installation and construction efforts, including redlines. Drafting personnel will convert redlines into as-built documents.
+ Remove and repair or replace components, wires, wire bundles, terminal blocks, and/or connectors.
+ Solder, splice, or otherwise install/repair various wire types including coaxial, shielded, solid, and stranded wires.
+ Test and troubleshoot electrical components by applying the theory of operation of transistors, solid state components, integrated circuits, motors, servos, power transmissions, and other electrical devices utilizing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, color codes, publications, and other technical data.
+ Troubleshoot, repair, align, and calibrate audio equipment and voice communication systems to the component level, utilizing schematics, theory of operation, general and system specific test equipment.
+ Schedule performance verification with the FAA TOR to ensure equipment is properly adjusted and ready for flight inspection or operational use.
+ Install sensors, wires, cabling, computers, radios, and satellites in an unpredictable, fast paced environment in all weather conditions.
+ Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Requirements:
+ High school diploma is required.
+ Work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, etc.).
+ Lift at least 50 pounds.
+ Basic Microsoft suite, Internet, and E-mail.
+ Must be able to meet customer security requirements (moderate to high risk). A background check by federal authorities will be performed.
+ Must be able to travel up to 100% within the Central Service Area.
Desired Skills:
+ Advanced electronics training from institutions such as junior college, military service, or trade school training
+ 5+ years' experience with testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and installation of Fiber Optics, other Radio Control Systems (RCE) and other complex electronics equipment
+ Maintain, repair, troubleshoots, modify, and install various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices.
